Offload your BS leveling kits NOW! Changes to leveling BS in 5.2

    http://www.wowhead.com/news=210415/5...-megaera-video

Basically, you can level blacksmithing from 1-500 with just ghost iron ore.
It's very similar to the new method to leveling cooking.

However, this should increase ghost iron ore sales.

This new BS leveling system is not only going to impact those selling kits or those just selling bars and ore, but also those that sell recipes. More people are going to hit BS 500, and not even care about old recipes.

This should also alert us that Blizzard may be working on closing this profession leveling gap with ALL professions. I wouldn't be surprised to see changes made to LW, Alchemy, etc etc in the same manner.
Continue selling kits/mats for the other professions, but I would start offloading all your BS mats now that are just for leveling BS. (May be able to use them to craft neat weapons and whatnot, so keep that in mind!)
See Argalin's Smelting Guide to see what other good uses you can get out of ores and bars.

I definitely want to see how the skill-ups end up looking. Some of those are outrageous, 100x Ghost Irons Bars? I would rather farm Obsidian myself than use 100 GIO on a recipe unless it's giving 20 skill-ups or more.

I know this complaining but I don't even think this is fair or makes sense.
Wow has always worked hard on the leveling process, going out and exploring the world.
Now there is no reason to farm old ore, except what...Jewelcrafting leveling?
And why nerf the blacksmith process and not the jewelcrafting process.
See I don't pvp or pve but they nerfed blacksmith leveling that I struggled with.
So finally I have something to cry about.

I expected this when they gave us new 1-500 recipes for Cooking. This is their reaction to players complaining that they were leveling too fast to gather mats for their professions - simplify the recipes to not need anything from old content.

I don't even know how to express how disappointing this is except to say it makes me happy to be un-subbing when my Annual Pass is over.

That said, you've to be L85 and go to VoEB - where, unless you're also an engineer, there is no AH. The mats required look to be a lot, too, so meh - idk how this will play out.

I agree with @Stede, very disappointing. Even if I was NOT a connoisseur of selling profession kits, this is yet ANOTHER reason people won't be visiting old world content. A lot of zones exist now simply for farming/leveling.

Honestly this doesnt really bother me that much. It is a pain to level professions, especially when someone is gouging prices (800g per stack anyone).

I used to play on low pop where there were items that you couldnt get, no matter the cost. I had to level mining, just so that i could level jewelcrafting. It saddens me that people will be making less gold but i think the good outweighs the bad.

I've had the same issue on my smaller-population server.

I recently leveled three Alchemists and I had to go farm various herbs for all three of them. Gromsblood was a big roadblock, as well as many of the BC/NR herbs.

I think this is going to be interesting. The recipes seem to take a TON of GIB, do we know how many skill-ups they give per craft? This may make it simpler but not cheaper to level BS. Personally I hope this makes Ghost Iron so ridiculously expensive that people say screw it and go back to leveling guides a bit.
