    Most profitable professions in MoP?

I'm just wondering if the most profitable professions have changed since Cata.
Also I'm pretty sure that I'm not using many of my professions to their fullest, so if this poll gives another result than
what I'm currently experiencing, I will know that I will have to change the way I'm thinking about my professions.

Obviously conditions change from server to server, but I'm still curious to see what people find is working best on their servers.
    Thanks in advance.

I voted for both Inscription and Jewelcrafting.

Inscription (DMCs) have been very profitable the first two faires, and the sales are big hitters. However, I expect the value to sharply drop off next faire.

JCing, on the other hand, is like printing money at the moment. I'm only limited by the amount of GIO that I can get my hands on and how quickly I can prospect it all.

Currently, i'm mainly in 3 markets. In descending profitability order:

1- Jewelcrafting (Rare and perfect cuts)
2- Transmog (mostly green sets and blue with very nice looks, this has picked up a lot in the last 2 weeks)
    3- Inscription (glyphs and trinkets)

Inscription has really been a let down on my server since the expansion. It's still my 3rd best money maker.

    Cheers!

I didn't realize you could do more than 1 choice so just did one. I choose inscription where I've made close to a million gold since the expansion started (I started with 100k).
It is far and away the most profitable although I do have several scribes (key to making lots on it).

Second for me is alchemy - again multiple transmute alchemists. Living still has been good for me. Now I combine with BS and steadily sell belt buckles every day. Not big money any more but steady profit with very little time investment. Transmuting diamonds is profitable.

JC - Yes, it is profitable. I've prospected and then did the shuffle and it makes money. But it is very time consuming and isn't that profitable for the rewards. Inscription takes time too (due to milling requirements) but the profit has been huge. JC takes equivalent time and the profit is not as good. Selling cuts has been disappointing. Basically I've made most of my money from transmuting diamonds (requires alchemy) and from some of the level 450 jewelry and rares on the lower jewelry. I did DE a bunch of stuff but with spirit dust being so cheap on my server I just vendored my last batch of green jewelry.

I'm guessing that JC is getting votes because of Shuffeling.
But if we disregard shuffeling, is JC still the most profitable prof?

I'm asking because I am going to make a char on a new server that will have inscription and something else.
And I'm assuming that JC wont be very profitable if I dont have alch, BS and enchanting.

Yes. Using the other professions to help round out the shuffle are optional and can potentially provide better margins.

With JC alone you still have crafted ilevel 450 blue jewelry. You have cut and uncut rare gems, these will be needed throughout the expansion as people progress and continue to gain better gear and uncut gems are also used by other professions. And for greens, instead of creating level 85 greens to DE you can purely focus on perfect gem procs, which again will be needed.

Last mini disclaimer. Gems are great on my server but some servers sound like they are saturated to the point of not being profitable. Hence, your results may vary. Check your server prices, etc.

For me its a tie between inscription and jewelcrafting, everything else is a far far far second place.
I do not think you ignore shuffling that is the bread and butter of the jc market.

Based solely on gating required for most professions, JC and Inscription are definitely top 2. However I think LW and BS come in fairly close once you have all of the patterns.

    It's completely situational IMHO.

I've already cleared a million in sales purely from the Blacksmithing market since MoP launch.

All I can say is gating (and TSM) are your friends.

ANY market that has a high, constant demand that you can control & consistently move large volumes on = profit, pure and simple.
