@Kinaen , looks like you'll have to step it up a notch when it comes to JC on your server. Time to put your goblin pants on or move to a different market. No, I don't mean camp the AH even more. Your server looks prime for a reset. Let your competitors do all the prospecting and cutting while you reset to decent prices.

Sometimes its better not to look at the prices, but the number of gems being listed at that price. There are a number of gems on your server that are priced cheap, but there aren't very many of them. Granted I'm looking at it following a long maintenance, but the history shows a pattern of not many gems being listed at any given time. Gobble them up and reset to the price you want.

Now realize that this is a lot more of a risky maneuver than "Buy cheap ore, prospect, cut gems, undercut competitors . . . profit." You've got to do it right, but more importantly, you've got to do it at the right time, and it can lead to big dividends.

I know it's not as easy as the TSM crafting queue, but seeing them next to each other, it's easy to determine which perfects you'll need to queue up.

@UtesDad what information are you using to condense your cut gems into 2 bags? With so many cut choices this xpac, I'm struggling to pick which I should worry about, and which I should just leave behind. I tried looking up reccomended cuts by places like noxxic.com or askmrrobot, but there are STILL too many in that list..

    @UtesDad

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate a tailored, realistic approach. And I agree with you. In fact, I've been doing that this afternoon. The price of ore is putting profits very low at the current price, and trying to scrounge up enough mats would prove to be very time and cost-prohibitive.

I'll never give up on the JC market. I've far too competitive for that.

It's purely based on sales data. At first I had the scatter approach, put up two of everything and see what sells. After about a month or so, trends started to develop and I started cutting the fat. The hardest was trimming the orange cuts down to a manageable amount. I eventually ended up on 36 cuts (rares/perfects) to fit into 2 bags. I'll probably adjust it more, but we'll see.

I do something similar, but I use a combination of wow-popular (to see what people want), and TUJ - to see what actually makes the most gold. Combining those two sources, I set my crafted list to only include those gems. They're still selling more slowly than in previous expansions, but I'm still making bank. ;-)

@Unagi , the amount of perfects depends on how often and how much you put up per day.

I put up my auctions twice a day with 2-3 gems per post, so I need 4-6 gems per cut.

However, if you have a limited amount of uncommon gems:
    - check TUJ for most expensive cuts
    - reset most popular cuts, if you have to
    - see, how many cuts per color you need to do
    - divide your amount of one color of uncommons by the number of cuts.

This way, you maximize your opportunity to sell as many perfect cuts as possible.

    It's pretty simple, really.

@UtesDad , what would you advise for beating kobolds, who put up perfects for under 50g? Essentially, that's 125% of crafting cost (2g per uncommon), so it's pure profit for them, so if I reset them, it won't be that profitable, if I sell them again. What would you do?

For me, I let the market drop weekday, then wait for Thursday/Friday evening to reset the market, but not over 30g per perfect (so excluding those 50g perfects). Or, I should do it on Wednesday evenin, too (right now, actually).

How important a factor is monitoring supply in your daily AH activities? Would you say it's the most important factor, even more than price or is it something you just take a quick look at when trying to reset a commodity?

Also, what's a good way to deal with extreme campers? I've been dropping prices and buying them out, but is that the most effective way at dealing with someone that seems to have all day to sit at the AH?

Every day when I do my posting cycle in TSM, I'll go back and look at the items which were not posted because the auction was below my threshold. For some items, not all, I'll take a second look to see why. If it's because of one random gem that someone priced wrong, I'll buy it up and repost. I won't spend more than a couple of minutes doing this. When it seems like I'm getting a ton of those, I'll sit down and take a closer look at the market. When this happens I'll take 10-15 min to reassess the market and adjust my thresholds accordingly, but for JC I've only had to do this once since MoP launched (when the botters came back).

Lol yea, when the price of Ghost Iron Ore went from 100g/stack to 40g/stack in about 2 days with listings of 100s of stacks of ore by the same people.
