Question Regarding the New 358 Rings

Howdy, first off I'd like to thank you all for the amazing information contained within this forum. Honestly it's amazing, today's my first day playing with the WoW economy and I've made 10k through shuffling and reselling some good snatches.
I can't help but notice there's some ends I'm not tying up with my shuffling however such as the lesser demanded gems, the yellow and blue ones to be precise. I'm considering making the 358 PvP rings but I'm confused as to whether or not I should sell them normally, disenchant them or a mixture of both. I'm wondering if anyone has experience regarding this or any alternatives for getting rid of the bloody things?

I avoid them like the plague. Just can't find a profit, nor a market to make it in with those damn things.
    Don't undercut me bro!

No way they're worth disenchanting. Stormforged Shoulders => Heavenly Shard (s) costs 16 Elementium Ore & 8 Obsidium Ore. Carnelian Spikes => Greater Celestial Essence costs two Carnelians. Those rings & necks cost a LOT more than that.

I made a set the day they became available. They all eventually sold at a modest profit, but it took a couple of weeks. Haven't been tempted to give it another whirl, especially with Volatiles so dear these days.

The only way to address your overstock is to prospect a bunch of ore, transmute the Carnelians and Hessonites, make Jasper Rings and Alicite & Nightstone Pendants to disenchant, and cut & vend the Zephyrites. We're all in the same boat. Note that Solid Ocean Sapphires will sell at a brisk clip, but for a very low profit. Best of luck!

Ive had them sitting around a bit longer than the "average" pvp piece when I did make them.

Now their hovering around 150-200 each and the mats at 200-250.

There's no doubt storm forged shoulders is more profitable if I'm aiming to make heavenly shards, my question more specifically is if making the rings from ocean sapphires and amberjewels as a method of dumping them is the most profitable way to get rid of them?

It's not profitable at all. No way the Volatiles it takes to craft the ring aren't worth more than whatever you'd get from disenchanting, even if the gems were free. You'd lose money- you're better off just vending them.

I've found fantastic success selling cut ocean sapphires and amberjewels. True, both colors can dip at or below 10g for their cut versions, but I've also sold cuts in both colors for upwards of 60-90g. Smooth Amberjewel has sold for me anywhere from 11g to 90g. I'm completely happy to sell [Solid Ocean Sapphire] and [Smooth Amberjewel] in the 10-12g range.

To be honest, my largest back stock is in Amberjewels and Dream Emeralds. I can barely keep Ocean Sapphires stocked (but I'm also selling 3 or 4 cuts).

I sell all the pvp items for profit quite regularly. They amberjwel/ocean sapphire rings have been fantastic for funneling those gems through to reduce my stock of those slow moving gems. It's worth throwing up on the AH in any case, even if they are slow movers, because it's not as though you are supply constrained on yellow/blue gems.

@Mugsley , sell Dream Emeralds in stacks of 2. On my server demand for the scope is still very high and 90% of people will just buy the mats from AH then LF engie. I can usually sell about 8 a day. Its slow, but better then keeping them all in my bank :P

OT: I would make one or two and see how the market is. The demand for these rings is there on my server, but prices are all over the place. If you can snatch some cheap volatiles it may be worth a shot. I try to keep 1 of each in stock (not the inferno ruby ones) and probably sell 1-2 a week of each.

I've been keeping 2 or 3 2-stacks of Dream Emeralds on the AH steadily for the past week and none have sold.
