    Tip: Savage Leather Scraps Leveling

grants leatherworking skillups from 425-450. The best part is that you can generally make gold from converting the scraps to actual leather, so you get paid for leveling it up!

Also, do not pay the 7g to train . It's not even required to do the conversion!

Thanks for the tip I just messed with this. No profit on my server right now but easy free skillups.
    Goes grey at 445 though.

I'm 110% certain that I skilled 425-450 using only scraps. I've not crafted anything besides scraps and my LW is 450. This is probably just one of those recipes that grant skillups into grey.

While on the topic of converting scraps into regular. Do a price comparison for scraps before buying the regular. I have been buying up 5x scraps for less than 1 regular leather. Saving 1-3g for every 1 regular leather and with the volume I've been buying to level my leatherworking alt, the savings add up.

I bought 20 stacks of the scraps. My LW was at 444 before starting this. Hit create all and watched as a second later I hit 445 and the recipe went grey. I crafted the rest of my scraps but I did not get another skillup. I wonder how many stacks of scrap you are doing and how many is needed per point past 445 if it is indeed working that way. Too bad I pushed my LW a little higher after that or I would go back and test.

I made 200 , so a total of 1000 . I came >< this close to taking a screenshot for this thread, but didn't. I stopped at 450 to train illustrious in case scraps provided skillups past 450.

Interesting question though... did you train ? I'm guessing there's 2 versions of the spell. 1 that is accessible through the spell book, the other simply from right clicking scraps. Maybe the latter unintentionally provides skillups!

Wait you gained the skillup by right clicking on the scraps? Well that would probably be the difference. I spent 7g training it (Yah im a completionist so that was going to happen regardless of your advice) and hit craft all to make the savage leather. I am surprised that right clicking the scraps would even give skillups. I guess I should have tried it out.
