    Market Arbitrage - Need Input

I'm struggling with figuring out what to do for some market arbitrage tools. I get the concept, that either cross-faction sales through the neutral AH, or cross-realm sales during a paid realm transfer, would benefit by seeing where prices are low on the source and high on the destination.

I thought about making a page dedicated to arbitrage, but it'd be an overgrown category page. I could spruce up the item pages so the timeline chart and maybe some other charts have two lines, one for each realm. But they're all just ideas, and since I've never really done market arbitrage, I don't know what would be the most useful.

I've started with the category pages. It's accessible only via the URL parameter for now, but I'll add a control somewhere on the page so you can pick your second realm via a dropdown. Here's some examples:

Tailoring Arbitrage between Blackrock Horde and Mal'Ganis Horde

Companion Arbitrage between Blackrock Horde and Blackrock Alliance

Other than "hey, some tools for market arbitrage would be neat", what specifically would be helpful? I may have had some suggestions via email or in other threads, but I'm too lazy to look thru them over the past few months' worth, sorry. This'll be my go-to thread for arbitrage requests, so please be specific. Thanks.

Something like a tab that showcases the top 10-20 or w/e items, by % difference, to trade to the other faction would be what I'd use most. What you have would be good too, maybe both?

Sort by market price, price to buy one, average price, quantity, number of sellers, estimated number of sales, what?

Honestly, what you are showing now in the Companion page for Blackrock Horde / Alliance I think is perfect.

    - Percent difference (gain) would be the biggest decision maker for me.
    - Qty Available and estimated number of sales would be next - I want to make sure the market I am working in is a LIQUID market.

Would it be possible to color code the market values - Green/Blue for the higher value, Red for the lower value?

I think this would be useful for comparing flask, herb, and ore prices.

Another page I would find useful is a page showing 359 BOE epic prices over both factions.

You'd have to filter out certain items with an idea like this though. I could easily post 20 different gray items up on the Horde side for 10k, which would make a big difference between alliance and horde prices. (Which then fills up those 20 slots on the page with useless information about greys).

I think it'd be easier to do commonly sold items like you're saying.

% difference market price would be most important to me, quantity/sellers would also be helpful as would estimated sales. I think the most important part of it is just bringing the item to our attention, we'll probably end up doing a bit of research on it anyway to make sure it's viable.

That's kinda my point. It seems as though there are a lot of factors in arbitrage that you can't really script out. You know whether you personally want to deal with rare items (pets/BoEs) or commodities (ores/volatiles). You know what you can get easily and what markets you understand. I wouldn't know the supply/demand curves relative to volatiles, but perhaps I have a good handle on how dusts, shards and essences move through the market.

Details are still kinda vague. I'd like to hear someone say, "hey, I send gems from my horde main to sell on my ally alt. I'd really like to know when rare red gems are low in quantity so I should send more over" or "hey, I moved from one realm to another, and had to buy lots of stuff to get under the gold limit and liquidate it after the transfer. I wish I had known that there was a huge demand for enchanting mats, or herbs, or whatever I should've bought."

OK, then I'll say something similar....I *do* move gems cross faction, WEEKLY, bank tabs full of them. And which gems I move changes based on two primary things - VOLUME and the value of the gems. It takes me forever to figure it all out. I also move DMF cards, Truegold, and anything else (it never matters really) that has both a high absolute dollar value AND a high percentage difference between the two. The only thing I RARELY move is BoE epics - I'm just not a big fan of gear since that stuff fluctuates so much. But I know MANY people work in that market.

I think mats is important also. For example, is still in the 8-10g range Alliance on my server, but there is a bot on Horde, so I have been buying it at 5-6g. So general Trade Goods like that would be nice also.

I buy ore and herbs on whichever side bots happen to dump them on. I'd like to be able to see a single graph of prices and quantity on both sides so I can easily look for trends in posting times and when they switch sides.

Whenever I get sick of making DMF cards, I use the herbs for flasks. Flasks sell for more on one side sometimes but it fluctuates. Ideally there'd be a graph of the flask prices on both sides superimposed, and another graph showing how this compares to the materials cost at that time.

Certain BOE epics (world drop) sell better / for more on one side. I would set up notifications for these but with mounts and rare recipes alone on one faction I have over 200. I'd also like these notifications for the other faction, but that'd put me well past the notification limit.
