I think I remember Erorus explaining why EU support may be a little tricky. Besides funding all those accounts, there are technical challenges he must overcome. I'll probably dig up that information later and compile some sort of FAQ if this is not already in the works.

I'm not saying that I'll never support EU realms, but here's a list of some stuff in the way of The Undermine Journal EU:

    1. Battle.net Auction API - I just want to wait for it. Even if my US armory methods might work there, I still want to wait.
    2. Paypal - EU battle.net doesn't accept it, as far as I know. Buying EU time without eating lots of transaction fees can be tricky, although I'm sure someone figured that out. Still wish it could feed from Paypal, since that's where donations go.
    3. Auction Database - Not sure if I'd just build a second server, or if I'd get an SLC SSD to put in the current server. Either way, capacity would need to be upgraded, and that costs some money.
    4. Bandwidth to/from Auction Database - Auction DB is sitting on my home DSL. It might be able to handle the EU realm data, but maybe not. If not, could get a business account from local cable internet provider, but that'd increase costs.
    5. Setting Up New Accounts - can I set up new battle.net accounts in the EU with a US address? Probably not. Will need to consult with cross-continent players (why hello thar, Sinshroud) to find the best way to do this.
    6. A little bit of coding - all of TUJ assumes US realms. Would probably make an eu.theunderminejournal.com subdomain and leave the rest of the code alone, but just handling that little bit needs to be done. Just a little bit, though. Probably.
    7. Other stuff I'm forgetting

Yeah thanks for that Erorus, I understand that it's just a project and not actually your job. You are doing a really excellent job from what I've seen and heart from US players.

I would rather that the service continues and survives as US only, rather than becoming US and EU, but putting too much stress on you or your pockets, ending up in the project collapsing eventually. I've gotten by without UJ fine, so I can definitely keep going.

First of all welcome to the Consortium. You have a pretty big fan audience here, and Iím sure people are loaded with Ideas which can help you in the development, and benefit the users. Iím visiting your site once in a while, to check up on the European status, and ofc. I always do that with my fingers crossed.

Iíll properly get hit in the head by others users, but have you considered making some kind of paid subscription. Maybe a free light version and a more detailed version of the data for a small monthly fee.? You have a lot of costs to cover, and being depended on donations in the long run might not be enough.

Speaking of donations, the Consortium should consider making a ďEuropean TUJ FoundationĒ hehe.. Iíll be the first to chip in for sure, if itís helps getting EU on TUJ faster.. (feel the pressure?)

Anyways great job on your site its just awesome, and again welcome.!

    +1

What about a subscription to daily overview reports. This could help cover costs i.e. Reports sent from stock broking firms highlighting high's / lows volume traded etc? This could be a subscription which gets e-mailed out on a daily basis

this may help with the game time issue??

have donations gifted to you in game time

i know it does not solve all of your problems but it may be one less thing stopping the EU journel happening

Since comments on your blog post are closed:
@EU: But would a German player know, offhand, what we call Netherweave Cloth? Or Twilight Jasmine? Or would know how to look up any made-up words that aren't directly translated? I'm sure that many could read and understand what's in front of them, but they aren't expected to know what we call all the items in English in order to look them up.
    Netherweave Cloth
    Netherstoff

So you could either use wowhead for german names or the armory. All you'd need is like a table with itemid plus names in en_GB de_DE etc. Or you just skip that part if you are lazy and have the players lookup the english names themselves.

I don't have a smartphone, so I'm unable to sub to the remote AH for £3(?) a month (if that's what the remote AH actually costs).
I do, however, have a credit card, and would love to sub to a EU TUJ for £3 a month.
