    Suggestion: Column ordering

    Hi Erorus,

Just wondering if it might be possible to add column ordering to a player's current auctions - i.e. be able to click a link at the top to order in descending or ascending order for that column. The order currently seems to be broadly, but not entirely, alphabetical.

It would be very handy to be able to list my own auctions in descending buyout value order so I can check offline if I have been undercut on the most valuable items. It would also be very handy to sniff out which very valuable items my main competitors are selling.

Thanks for all the great work you have done and continue to do on TUJ - as ever it is highly appreciated!

This is a really important feature for me, good to know it's already in the To-Do list. Particularly significant are the orders by Buyout Price (total value) as well as Item Name (alphabetical). The "Cheaper" column is also useful for the reason Maplebunny stated above. This sorting can be used very effectively when dealing with competitors, to adapt as quick as possible. Thank you so much for your attention to this! (sounds reasonably easy to implement)

Conceptually it's easy to imagine, but regular HTML tables don't allow for reordering on the client. I'll have to find and include a new javascript library to resort table data (likely, probably some jquery module), or maybe go back to using Google's table widget (unlikely, but what old TUJ used).

I knew you'd say something techy like that to prove me wrong! Seems like it's still a bit of work, so here's a bump to perhaps make this go a bit higher on the priority list. Without sorting it seems something is noticeably lacking, and it would be another of those lovely "hidden" functionalities implemented in the site.

Hi - if this is tricky to implement client-side, can this not be done server-side by having URL links on the column headers and passing a variable on the query-string? Then have the server code render the table based on the column order request?

    e.g. :-

    h t t p s://theunderminejournal.com/#crushridge/seller/Maplebunny&auction_sort=buyout_desc

Ok it means another server call but that way people can actually store the URL in their favourites with the table already sorted to their liking.

    Maple.

Modern TUJ does all page assembly client-side; the server doesn't render any HTML at all. That won't change.

Oh Been a number of years since I did any web programming, guess I am too used to the server-side rendering model ;p
Thanks anyway the site is great - but the ability to sort tables would make it even better

This is done. Click column headers on seller & category pages.
