    TSM seems to crash WoW

    Hi

Recently I have noticed that as soon as I click on an AH NPC WoW crashes. No errors just a complete freeze. I assumed this was due to an AH addon ( I use Auctionator as well as TSM. Auctionator on it's own seems to work ok. Curse notified me of some updates for TSM so I downloaded them and re-enabled TSM. At that point I could use the AH and see the TSM tabs. I ran a profession scan and then probably closed WoW. The next day when I click on the AH NPC WOW once again crashes.

Sorry that I can not offer any error codes, but I wonder if you are aware of anyone else having similar problems or whether there is anything I can try? TSM has been fine for months previously and I have enjoyed using it. Thank you for taking your time to write a very useful addon.

    Try these two things:

    1) Make sure you have "show/display lua errors" enabled in your interface options. If any errors are coming up, it's most likely the addon named in the error causing the problem.
    2) If you think it's TSM that is causing the problem, disable all your other addons except for TSM and see if the problem persists. If your wow crashes then it's TSM. If your wow doesn't crash, then it's not TSM.

P.S. I think it's highly unlikely for TSM to be causing this problem. If your wow is crashing when you click on an NPC, then it's most likely some other addon such as your unit frames or some kind of additional info addon like mobinfo2.

I have this problem as well but I have noticed it only happens if I click the AH NPC as soon as my game loads. If I wait for 5 seconds, it doesn't happen. When it does happen, no LUA errors are displayed and like Willifer, I have verified that disabling TSM stops the problem.

We need more information to help us track down "Why":
    1) What other addons do you have enabled?
    2) Does it happen only with TSM enabled?
    3) Is it a specific module or any?
    4) What version of TSM (And all installed modules) do you have? This can be done by typing /tsm version in-game.
    5) Are you running PC/Mac?
    6) Are you using an English, or Localized version of the Addon?

I am getting this complete freeze as well, after a fresh log in. It seems to be happening in conjunction with the latest Bagnon enabled, from what I can tell. After I got the crash a few times, I removed all addons from my addons folder and then added them back in, one at a time. It was only when I added Bagnon back in that I encountered the freezing issue. In addition, I've noticed that if both TSM and Bagnon are present in the AddOns folder, TSM doesn't show up in the list of addons you can access from the character menu.

Most of the time it causes a complete freeze, but I logged back in again to make sure and it threw an LUA error after freezing for maybe 3 seconds. Caught by Swatter about 15 minutes ago.

To be absolutely sure it is TSM causing wow to crash:

    1) Disable all addons except TSM Core (yes disable all other TSM modules).
    2) retest scenario that caused it to crash.
    3) if the crash occurs - report back here if not carry on to next step
    4) enable another TSM module that you use
    5) repeat steps 2, 3 4 for all TSM modules you use
    6) if still no crash - re-enable the other addons you use one at a time to isolate which one causes the crash.

EDIT: Well, after testing a bit more, I'm going to have to walk back my claim about TSM and Bagnon. Logically, if there was a conflict, just the two of them at the same time would produce the crash. So I took all other addons out but those two. No crash. I am really at a loss here. Everyone else experiencing this crash needs to post their list of addons so we can identify any common addons besides TSM and focus on those.

To complicate matters, the crash is FREQUENT but it doesn't happen all the time. At times I can crash twice in a row and then the third time, nothing. I know nothing about how LUA and WoW addons work, but is it possible there's some LUA conflict that doesn't occur all the time, just frequently?

Also, is there any way to log ALL addon activity in WoW? Every time it crashes, Windows generates an Application Hang error in my Event Logs, so if we had an addon activity log we might be able to pinpoint the point at which an addon causes the crash. I found info about something called TaintLog and set it to 2, which logs everything, but that didn't seem to help much as there are multiple instances of taint going on according to the log, caused by TSM and a few other addons I'm using.

EDIT: Yes, same result. I also tried removing TSM only, and get no crash. Added TSM back in, got the crash.

To be clear, what I am doing is logging in to my AH character, located in IF, and clicking on the Auctioneer NPC immediately after the game loads. Crash. I tried waiting 5-10 seconds and more often than not it still crashes, but not always.
my comments were not directed at you personally they were more a general guideline for people reporting crashing issues

although you said "I started with only TSM and its modules enabled, no crash"

when you added bagnon back in did you just have tsm core enabled or one or more of the additional modules ?
What i am trying to ascertain is which module seems to be conflicting with bagnon. So if you could try just core tsm (on its own) and bagnon and see if it crashes.
if not enable the tsm modules one at a time and see if you can pinpoint which one

Very odd, I managed to get the time to mess around Thursday. With only TSM I could click on the AH NPC with no problems (it was only the AH NPC causing a problem btw) I then systematically re-enabled every addon I recognised, that did mean some libraries were not checked. Everything worked fine. Could not report this yesterday as busy. Today I log on and try and access the AH NPC and get a crash.... When I get time I will try and narrow down the issue, but for me it seems to be linked to when I use the AH. If I log on and use the AH right off I get a crash, if I wait for a while it seems ok.

Will investigate more when I get time.
