I had the same issue. Log in, click on AH NPC, and the game freezes. I also have Bagnon installed, and when I disabled the Bagnon and reloaded, everything started to work fine.
So, thanks for the hint with that Bagnon. If that bug will appear once more, I will try to look upon it closer.

    Catched it again!
So, freeze appears when all these are true:
    a) Bagnon enabled
    b) TSM enabled with core, Accounting, AuctionDB and Shopping modules (if disable at least one of those three+core, bug will not appear, all other TSM modules can be disabled and the game still freezes)
    c) you haven't opened your bags from login on this char.

So, if you don't want your game to freeze on AH with Bagnon and TSM, just open and close your bags once before right-clicking the AH NPC. And everything will work fine. At least for my hour of testing.

So now we have to figure out which addon is causing the conflict, TSM or Bagnon. Maybe some of the TSM devs can take a look at this? If it's Bagnon's fault, I'm sure the author would appreciate a heads up...

Well there is obviously some conflict between TSM and an addon that all of us who are experiencing a crash are using, or this crash would not be happening. Makshow's fix, opening your bags before using the AH, works. So that would point to a conflict between TSM and Bagnon. It is somewhat frustrating that TSM devs are treating this as a non-issue when it clearly is happening and is serious enough to completely freeze WoW.

Fortun - how can we be treating it as a non issue ? we all have a combination of the same addons and dont get the same result.

i have just tried tsm + bagnon (and 100+ other addons) and no freeze / crash when i open the ah

same with just tsm and bagnon

If we cannot replicate how can we fix it ?

On the flip side of that, it is obvious that it is nonetheless happening for some TSM users. So what then? Is there any way to debug the actions of TSM and other addons so that those of us experiencing this issue could pinpoint the cause?

no there isn't any way to debug unless addon authors include specific debug code to print to chat (which increases size / overhead of the addon).

on your comment though about it happening for some users - only 4 out of thousands so i am sure you can appreciate that it is very difficult for us to fix something that we cannot replicate ourselves. if there was an lua error at least we would have something to look at but there isn't

I would argue there are more than 4 people encountering this same issue, but a majority of them don't bother to find the TSM forum, register, and post about it... if they even know that the problem is caused by some sort of intermittent addon conflict.

Makshow's fix seems to work, but it's a shame that there isn't a way to find the root cause, instead of making due with a gimmick to prevent it every time on login.

Finally, I point out that I DID post an LUA error which has recurred several times since, although I'm not sure if it's related to this bug or a separate issue:

    Code:

@Fortun , the bottom line is, if we can't reproduce an issue or see clearly why it is happening, there is no way for us to fix it. I can see why you might be frustrated by this, but you should understand that we would much rather be tackling the issues and features which impact the majority of TSM users, not spending hours of time tracking down something that only impacts a few people in seemingly random circumstances.

Hopefully somebody who is experiencing this error will come along and figure out exactly what's causing it and offer a solution (as has happened before). Until then, there's not much that can be done code-wise.

Side note, reporting lua errors on the forums is not optimal as they often get lost which is why we direct people to read this page on how to properly report them. For your error specifically, I'd guess it's a conflict with MirageUI_ClearFont.
