Call to ALL GOBLINS: We need ideas

Hey folks! This is Cente from the TSM team here! I'm responsible for guiding the project and designed a good chunk of the addon package along with Sapu, who has worked diligently with a few other excellent individuals through the coding aspects of the project!

I really hope you guys have enjoyed our brainchild, and we've been absolutely loving your reactions to our first non-beta release! We've worked very hard on TSM, but we still have work to do!

In this post, I need you guys to GIVE US SUGGESTIONS on the BIG IDEAS that you'd like to see in future LARGE RELEASES (read, non-beta version 2.0) of TSM.

The main things we're focusing on include giving you guys BETTER AUTOMATION, BETTER INFORMATIONAL AWARENESS, and INCREASING CODING EFFICIENCY. We also need ideas for COMPLETELY NEW FEATURES and COMPLETELY NEW MODULES. I have a very large, very secret list of things I'm having Sapu add to the program! But I know you guys are right on top of your game too, give me what you got!

Guidelines: Keep suggestions very simple for us. Describe the exact improvements you want to see in high detail, then give us an example scenario where the idea would apply. Don't be cryptic!

It's a great idea, but I think a thread like this already exists, or am I missing something? http://stormspire.net/official-trade...e-version.html

Those are more short-term. I want to make it clear that these are the BIG IDEAS. Stuff that isn't just a quick upgrade and call it good- stuff that's going to take a lot of time and effort to plan out

    Well, in that case:

    TSM_CMS (Contact management System)

-Tracks competitors, COD deals, Business Partners and important information about them
-Allows you to change certain addon settings as pertaining to each contact as well. IE. Mailing or Auctioning settings for whitelisting, etc.

    TSM_Routine

    - Similar to the features that the old gathering module had, a step-by-step process for your routine, all "queued" up for you.
    - The idea would be that you log into one toon and "set" the queue. Then it would carry over from toon to toon, so that as you log between characters, you can still see which mats you needed to mail out, how much ore you needed to prospect, what all needs to be crafted on that particular toon, etc.

Just a few ideas for now...

I see that this same post is on the front page, but comments aren't linked. Who front-paged it? I want to look into this.

Item level configuration. Groups are nice, but they are very clunky. Lets face it, we do a lot of clicking before it pays off. A lot of clicking.

Imagine if the first time you loaded TSM and you opened up configuration or even went to the auction house to post, and you could click on an item(s) (shift click is the normal convention), entered an item id(s), or imported a list and then set its crafting (if applicable), posting, dealfinding/search and reset settings all in one interface.

Imagine if your reset scan was also a shopping scan. (I mention this in the shopping thread, but I guess I'll repeat a bit here.) You could set your normal criteria for shopping like maximum price, and also show all listing as an option. All along with any resets that fit your criteria. In this way, all of your buying type activities are in the same scan. Or rather, the activities which will send you to your mailbox when completed are all combined.

I may be missing it but I'd like to see a easy way to also post isolated one-off items that aren't on any of my groups. I keep auctionator around basically just for that. I'd like to be able to have just TSM loading.

If that's already there and I've missed it my apologies in advance.

You have, but no worries - it isn't really that obvious. I missed it myself at first, but knew it was in the works, so kept poking around.

If you SHIFT+click on an item while at the search frame, it will run a scan for it and the "POST" button will become available. If there are currently auctions up for the item, clicking on an item will allow you to undercut a specific one (much the same as auctionator). POST brings up a number of options to configure for you to post non grouped items this way.

I would assume that this would fall under the category of a 'big idea', although it seems like it could be created from a lot of existing data in the modules already.

I rely regularly on some of the great excel work that has been done by Sterling and Stede to do the ore/herb shuffle efficiently and effectively. There is a lot of functionality there that I imagine would work even better with a regularly updated TSM database (I don't know what methods TUJ uses to calculate market values, but I know that TSM's methods are sound for our purposes). Common themes I see on both of their threads include compatibility between different spreadsheet platforms and versions, and an ability to seamlessly or at least efficiently import data from TUJ. The stellar work done by these goblins in excel should provide a firm foundation for an integrated in-game module.

Although likely not quite as profitable, it should be possible to add similar functionality for shuffling leathers (for the few of us who have leatherworkers) and enchanting mats (especially since at least the MoP beta, you can go Dust -> Lesser Essence -> Greater Essence -> Uncommon Shard -> Rare Shard). Depending on how far you'd like to take it, there are obviously shuffles for past tiers as well that might prove useful.

Destroying could be integrated into a module such as this, meaning that you could set your threshold, and go from destroying through finished glyphs, enchanting mats, blue jewelry, and/or scrolls in one fell swoop, all while keeping track of estimated profits in-game.

    Cheers.
