Auctioneer - Honestly I don't know why I still use it, originally I used it for Bean Counter and it's database but now TSM does both things. I guess I still use it since I trust my pricing data more from it then TSM.

Auctionator - Quick buying and selling, I don't like the way TSM sorts items I'm buying. I also prefer having the items sorted by price per item and not price per stack. I also use Auctionator for quickly selling things that I don't have set up into groups.

Altaholic - Mainly for tracking mail. I like to know when my mail is about expire.

I still use Auctioneer, in addition to TSM. And lately i really, really wanted to get rid of it completely. But i couldn't. Even though i think Auctioneer, once awesome and a must-have addon, now kinda outdated, chunky and requires at least some major updates to keep up with TSM.

I've found only 2 reasons for myself that keep me from uninstalling Auctioneer atm. In short, those two screenshots can show exactly what those reasons are.
    1. The improved default search interface. Yes, it might be old as dirt and i could be just nostalgic over it. But that's what i got used to, and i can't stand the default wow AH ui. And so far i can't find anything that'd fix this the same (or close) way. TSM does something of this sort on separate window, but it doesn't use the realtime AH, only its own db (which is also nice, but not always). And it's still not exactly the same compact and informative.

    2. Bean Counter. Mostly its history. Even if it's bugged as hell and fails to save at least a half of data from mailbox for no known reason. Yeah, there is a sort-of-replacement in TSM, but as far as i know there's no way to import Bean Counter data there. Also, it doesn't have all the needed filters, and i don't see where/if it saves expired/deposit lost data. And even tho there's only 2 years of BC data left (yep, i've been using it from somewhere around '07-'08), sometimes i need (or, well, just want) to see what sort of stuff i've been selling for over x months, how much i've lost on expired lots, how much profit i've got from this group of things and if there's something i fail with, like trying to sell some lame dropped blues for too long with a few hundreds gold lost on depos (yeah, true story ^^').

Probably, i can live without that, but tbh i don't see why i should - it doesn't take much to keep both addons. Tho i still hope one day TSM will fix at least first of my reasons, and maybe i'll find some way around the second. (Or maybe someone can point me the direction to something similar to Auctioneer on the first part, that'd not include complete AH suite?)

I think you're confusing Auctioneer and TSM here. Auctioneer lets you search through its own db to find items, TSM always searches the actual auction house and doesn't even store such a db. In the TSM tab, check out the "Search" feature of TSM_Shopping.

Nah, i probably just spell it wrong (sorry, english is not my native), but i know the basic idea of what both addons do, to the extent that i tried to fix a few things in code myself. What i mean, is basicly the "front" AH tab, which is altered by one of Auctioneer's components (not sure which one, but it's in Auctioneer full complectation). And the only option TSM gives is to just default to TSM search tab on window open. And while it's a nice thing, it doesn't fully replaces all fuctions of default blizzard AH search. So when i just need to check what's going on in one of AH folders, i still have to use the default search ui. And without Auctioneer it's really lame and pretty much useless - too wide rows, no 1-click buyout, no way to see prices per items in stacks, no way to sort by various things, no way to see colored Pct indicator, etc.

And yeah, there is sort of a similar thing in TSM shopping, but only if you search particular item. Maybe i'm blind (or just stupid :P), but i couldn't find anything in TSM without other addons to just click-browse AH, for example, by going through glyphs folder with "usable" checked and see at least that ui from TSM_search and not default one (if we assume there's no other AH mods except TSM).

Yeah, i could've use shopping lists, and just add every filter for every existing category, but that's even chunkier way then to just use both addons. -_-
Or i could just type the filters every time manually, like gem/red... but i'm too lazy for that. ;P Saved searches can solve some problems, but it gets spammed too fast and clearing it up manually all the time just doesn't work for me. Plus, there's no way to see the categories, so i'd just foget half of what i wanted to look at while doing all the typing and remembering what was the correct spelling for every cat. So, that'd do just fine as a short-term wayout when there's nothing else better then blizz "ui", but not something i'd delete the mod i got used to over 5 years. Also it tries to search for all pages before showing anything at all, so while it's not a problem for short searches, and sometimes useful to see and sort all the list... but sometimes it's just unneeded and a way to checkbox switch between full search and page-by-page would give TSM a few extra points on my oppinion. ^.^'

If there was an option to merge the default search and TSM search with just the search results being altered, leaving the rest of the window same fuctionality it has by default (maybe adding some useful things, but not removing anything), while leaving all the groups, lists, whatever searched where they are in TSM tab, then that'd fix this moment for me. But oh well, for now TSM is good as is, even if it can't cover all the work with AHs by itself.

Its kind of hard without loading up tonnes of Screen Shots, But.

I use auctionator, because it runs out of the box, simple and fast. TSM is epic for my tooltips, If I spent the time im sure TSM would fufill my auction needs. But i want to play the game, not play with addons. I think its more designed for power users.

ie, I want to buy linen cloth, I type the search into auctionator, and get a set of results, stacked and ordered cheapest to most expensive.

That new sale window of TSM just about changed my listing to tsm, til i had to Shift-click my fish 100 times and find it stacked in lots of 1.

Im sure theres a way to set it up to work as simply and transparently as auctioneer, But the out of the box part > all.

Also as a open source programmer the key required to run TSM app worries me, Time and time again I have seen such methods used to control a free app before it became a paid app. Not saying this is what you guys intend, but it sure keeps me away from relying on it.

All in all though, its a Epic addon set, I have all of them installed, and utilize most of them, When I eventually get time to doodle, It may well replace autionator but till then, Thanks for your time on this very useful set of add-ons.

It is not our intention to ever make it a paid app - we rely on donations to cover the site hosting costs.

The key is there so that we can control who downloads the app and that it is not distributed from other sources

In addition to what Bart39 said, the key is also in place to ensure we are sending your deal notifications to your verified email, and not spamming somebody else with something they can't easily unsubscribe from (they'd have to find our website and contact one of us; we'd have to figure out who the offender is, and ban their account - way too much work all around).

I use auctionlite to manage my buying/browsing lists. It lets me see all of the auctions posted, all of my buying lists lowest posted prices, and it makes it easier to buy up large amounts with a single button press. Sometimes I don't have a hard price I will buy at, depending on how the markets look.

I'm not sure if the quick actions right click option is meant to fix this - it doesn't work for me.
