Suggest New Features for TradeSkillMaster - Release Version

The future of TradeSkillMaster is, has always been, and will always be almost completely determined by user feedback. If you have an idea for how to make the addon better, we'd love to hear about it; simply reply to this thread with your idea!

Try and be as descriptive as possible in your response. Describe how you want the new feature / change to look, act, feel, etc. Also be clear on the purpose of the new feature / change. The less thinking we have to do about what the feature is and what it will be used for, the more likely we are to implement it. If somebody else has suggested the same thing, or you really like somebody else's idea, you are encouraged to quote it in your reply and say so. Most of the time, the ideas that are implemented are the ones that are suggested by multiple people.

How I decide which features get added and which don't.

    Thanks!

For reference, here is the old suggestions thread from the beta version.

Something I'm still interested to see, purely as a luxury, would be for TSM_Accounting to be able to track individual Character data, and if possible have the option to reset individual character data OR be able to "save" certain profiles for data capture.

E.G. I'm just starting to move into a new market, let's say Engineering pets, and I want to be able to easily see just how well they are actually selling, being able to do something like:

    • Create new data capture profile
    • You choose which character(s) to track it on.
    • You choose if you want to record EVERYTHING sold / sources of income, or if you want to track only specific items (e.g. you then choose which auctioning group, or you can shift click items in / write their ID's like for shopping/deal-finding.
    • You can then start/pause/stop the capturing of data of sales for that profile when you wish to, and then save it away so you can look back on it (almost like a "history").

It would be very interesting if you could create (perhaps even automatically) "monthly" records of specific markets on different characters so that you can compare the figures at the end of each month, or simply just for certain periods of time such as directly before a patch versus directly after a patch.

Is that possible to make realtime dealfinding search, like in Auctioneer?

What I would love to see is TSM_Mailing to allow automatic mailing based on categories rather then only groups and automatically update the mailing settings when the category changes.

I know a new version is coming out, so forgive me if it's already made it in there. One of the big new coin makers is flipping Transmogrification items, and the biggest hurdle to automating that process is that many of the pieces are randomly enchanted. So currently, if I have some thing "of the Boar" and I put that into a auctioning group, it will only undercut other items that are also "of the Boar". For Transmog, no one really cares what the enchant is, they just want to grab the cheapest piece that is in the set or looks right.

I noticed that in the TSM data file, that all the items are the same item ID, and there is a seperate value to describe the random enchant (for example, "of the Boar" is -45). Just as a quick test, I removed that variable. The generic item showed up in the auctioning group, but TSM failed to post the item (which was as expected).

What would be involved for TSM to compare a specific random enchant item against all the other randomly enchanted items for the same item ID so that it would undercut and post at the cheapest possible price?

When I queried on Twitter, the response I got back was that no one had gotten the desired behaviour out of TSM, but the mobile armory worked the way I'd like by default.

Really looking forward to the new version.

Something I've been thinking about is a more intelligent Mailing interface that allows you to designate a 'warehouse' - be that a bank, gbank or an alt with lots of bags to keep plenty of stock in. There would then be a mechanism that automatically mails stock from your 'warehouse' alt to replenish the appropriate bank alt when their stock runs below a certain threshold.

Where I'm coming from with this is I can only usually on average keep 2 of each crafted PvP item in stock on my main AH alt before all my bags are full but I'd like to have maybe 6+ of each crafted item readily available.

To give an example I'd craft 6 each of 'Item A,B and C' and the auto mailer would mail 2 of each to my main Bank alt and the remaining 4 to the warehouse alt. Once these Items have sold I could simply log onto my warehouse alt, hit the auto-mailer option and it would then replenish my main Bank alt's stock. The next time I craftefd Item's A,B and C the automailer would then restock the appropriate Alts automatically based on their current on-hand stock.

I know I could post using multiple alts (which I already have to do) but it's a time consuming process to run the whole AH gauntlet on multiple characters and a particular pain in teh arse when using Remote AH.

Does this sound like it could be useful? (and possible?)

I don't know if posting in different sized stacks is an option yet but I think it would be really, really nice.

EG. "Post in stack sizes: x, y, z" and "prioritize: "z, x, y" (if possible post z first, and then once all the z's have been posted or you can't post enough, post x, and etc.)
So I said to the guy, "whaddya mean Ashbringer.... ?" ahahaha!

    Splitting accounting per char ?

Hello, as a beginning goblin i greet you all !

I'm unsure if this post should belong here in this thread, if not please forgive me in advance.

Basically what i'd like to have accomplished is :

    - accounting split per-char in regards of spending and revenue
motivation -> i tend to invest (and post on AH) on other chars and post to get rid of the cost of posting to my 'banker', i know its in comparison to income atm 'peanuts, but in the end it all adds up .. and thus .. every cost i can avoid i want to avoid ..

i've been fooling around with profiles, but i think in following other guides about initial (skill-)setup its been mxed/messed up .. so i would apreciate if someone would be able ( if its there and havent discovered the way to) to explain it to me.

else i would like to see this feature implemented
There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers
