    The end of TradeSkillMaster_WoWuction

    EDIT 28-01-2016:
Note: This is not yet implemented
    EDIT 05-02-2016:
r303 is live. You have until the end of February to change your prices, after that we will remove the rerouted mapping and custom price popups.
If you do not use any of wowuction's price sources, deleting the module is all you need to do.
    EDIT 13-03-2016:
Closing this thread because wowuction support has been fully flushed out

    __________

We’ve been working on a new back-end server to improve on both stability and scalability. We decided to take this opportunity to add region-specific prices to our AuctionDB, in addition to the global prices we currently offer. As a result, and partly due to WoWuction’s recent instability, we decided to stop supporting WoWuction prices, and to end-of-life the TSM_Wowuction Addon.

This is effective as of the next release of the TSM desktop application, version r303. Don’t be too scared however! On initial release we’ve made sure that all WoWuction prices are mapped to DBMarket automatically, while WoWuction’s standard deviation values are set to 0c. Be aware however that we intend this mapping to be a temporary feature. You will get a popup in-game if you make use of this to make it permanent through creation of a local custom price source. We stress you should check your price settings. We will remove the rerouted mapping at the end of February. We hope this way everyone will be able to transition as painlessly as possible.

Also important to note is that region and global prices will always be downloaded for those running the TSM Desktop Application, with global prices being the average of the two regions. See the below picture for a clear overview. Be aware that DBRegion prices only become available once app r303 is live.

Any way we can get the new region source as an additional column in the web API?

It's sad to see WoWuction removed as a source, but this will help standardize setups and eliminate error for many players.

I am glad to see TSM finally be able to provide their own region data. Keep up the good work. The table will be very helpful when I go through and change all my operations.

Will there be a replacement for the "average sold per day" and "average daily quantity"?

  8. #8
The main thing I use from WoWuction is the "Display realm average daily sold quantity in tooltip" tooltip option. I really like seeing quickly about how many of a particular item are sold each day on my realm. Once WoWuction support is dropped will this tooltip option go away? Is there an alternative option I can use for the same feature? I found the Accounting option that shows sale rate but that is only for you personally and not for the realm as a whole.

    Thanks

WoWuction's average sold quantity is a guess at best, and a completely random value at worst, so I personally don't see it as a huge loss. However, we are looking at providing a metric of how likely something is to sell as part of AuctionDB as I see a lot of value in something that's truly accurate.

there maybe, but those values from wowuction were never accurate anyway they were based on assumption of a % of the difference between 2 auctions scans (10 auctions of spirit dust in last scan now theres only 5 lets assume 50% were sold and 50% expried)
