Tired of the Shuffle - High Profit, Low Volume Items?

    Happy Holidays all,

While the shuffle is alive and well in MoP, I'm growing tired of all that prospecting, milling, cutting, inking and crafting. I have about 1.2m liquid gold and I'd like to move into other markets. Specifically, I'd like to get some ideas for High Profit, Low Volume (HiPLoVe) items.

Mounts immediately come to mind - Choppers, Vials and Panthers, specifically. These markets will require me to level alts and grind some rep on those alts, so I want to investigate their profitability before I spend that prep time - can anyone comment? What about other rare mounts that I could flip?

Rare patterns as well could be flipped, but I'm not sure a lot of them have the margins that I'd be looking for. Are there some that'll sell for 10k, 20k, 50k?

The rare patterns/items are out there. You just have to be lucky enough to snatch some up at a good price. I would suggest creating a snatch list for these items, and scan for them while doing your regular AH-ing.

However I would not suggest trying to suplement your gold income solely on these markets, rather just an added market to what you currently have going on. High gold mounts/patterns/items may take weeks or even months to sell.

There is nothing I deal in with High Margins, because of cheaters, dupers, etc...
In Cata, I did pick up a ton of essence of destruction off the auction house, not through trade chat.
They had to be dupes. No one at that point on my tiny server could amass 100 essence of destruction.
And I never even got through crafting all of it.

I understand what you say about the shuffle,,its boring, so inscriptions/glyphs/milling.

I think having a lvl 90 blacksmith/leatherworker/tailor is a good interesting not boring way to go. You need spirits of harmony for recipes. And until they become boa, and are still bop, having a crafter with harmony recipes will do well.

If you are looking for quintuple digit profits, you need to move into TCG flipping. If you are on one of those dead servers (the ones that never see this stuff), you may be out of luck. This particular niche of WoW AH is really reserved for those with the gold to hold and spend. The other key to it is getting the mounts at cheaper prices. Of course a 50k turn on them isn't too bad, but you will take obscene AH cut hits. 5% of half a million is still 25k.

Try guild flipping buisness. If you are patient goblin, there is some gold hidden in this market.

I'm on a medium population server with a decent raiding community (but no hardcore heroic guilds). I'm thinking rare mounts are really the only items that have the most profit margins.

If you decide to move into a HiPLoVe market (ha, love that name), then you need to strap yourself with a different set of skills.

I agree that it can become tiresome doing the same ol shuffle every day. And I agree that going for slow moving, high profit sales can be a good change of scenery and bring in some large numbers.

This will also increase publicity. People are going to begin to know who you are. Some will criticize you. Some will test your patience. Others will flat out laugh at you.
With this in mind, it's VERY important to know that patience is key and that you need to keep a cool, calm and professional attitude.

Know the facts about what you sell. Know what going prices are.

If you are going to get into TCG items, use the TCG buy/sell/trade thread on the Achievements and Guild Advancement page for both pricing and to move items faster.

You will need to learn the art of the offer and trade.
You will need to set up an effective AH shopping list of rare items.
You will need to check the unusual item section on TUJ constantly.
You may even need to cross factions or servers to complete high profit trades.
You will need to read patch notes, both past and future, to take note of item rarity increases, decreases, removals, and even items that get added back to the game, either through the BMAH or through a remodel.
You will need to stick to your price, as well as give yourself some leeway to account for what people are willing to pay.

It's a very ambitious endeavor, and certainly not something for someone with a light wallet, both in game and IRL.

    Good luck!
