    Arrow Dumping Elementium Ore

    Take a look at this:

    Elementium Ore.jpg

I'm seeing a steady stream like this - should I just grab it all? What does everyone think?

I'm not sure how you'd intend on unloading it before MoP, but if you have the willpower to shuffle like 1k stacks of ore. You could also completely convert it to enchanting materials through carnelian spikes and then sell the green gems raw for a mark up in MoP but I'd be conscious of your storage space :P

[Almost] the same happened here. Tons of stacks at 4g a stack. Mind you, the realm is small to medium at best, hence this doesn't look exactly legit, unless we're talking about the unlikely case of a panicked and naive hoarder. I bought a few but I left it at that due to the risk of having to deal with tons of [storage] space. I won't bother to report it like I did for a queen's garnet dumping since the canned discussion I got there resulted to 'if it's from the ah it's safe', which I find quite silly.

edit: I changed my mind and decided to report a screenshot of a scan anyway. I do not expect much more than the previous time.

Oh my sweet lord, yes, yes! You'll get more out of it even if Inferno Rubies are 20g each.

I find reporting anything quite silly. This is how this game works now, there's nothing you or anyone else can do about it, for the love of god. If you want to be such a holier-than-thou, just don't freaking buy it. The canned responses you're getting are the polite way of saying "We don't give a snap, lay off already". And I fully support CS on this one.

You're wasting their time, and I'm wasting mine, since it must be impossible to reason someone who didn't buy tons of stacks at less than vendor price (yes, the vendor price of a stack is 4.5g) because of being unaware of the super advanced technique of storing infinite number of items and decided to report the seller for great justice instead.

I bought a bunch of stacks yesterday for 20g a stack prospected it all and am making a nice profit selling the common gems and the red rares. Saving the cheap commons for MOP when they will be needed for MOP. If I found elementium for that price I'd be all over it lol.

This doesn't apply if you have invested in something and then it tanks. e.g. people investing in vials and then going below cost.

While it's been awhile since I seriously looked at the math, the vendor floor for Cata ore is actually closer to 16-17g per stack if you craft it into jewelry before vendoring, as per math at: http://breakthebankwow.com/2011/05/n...dor-floor-4-2/

Buying ANYTHING below the vendor SELL price is a safe investment. I didn't realize ore had sunk so low. Perhaps I should start looking to buy some myself again - can always save it for a rainy MoP day down the road...

I would double check the math before diving in. The blog post assumes the value of a rare quality gem is 5g, whereas the vendor price of a cut rare gem is actually 3g75s

First, the vendor price on the jewelry remains untouched, and you'll notice that jewelry vendoring came out on top, even given the extra time involved. The rare gems drop it down a bit, but if you can't turn a 50g/stack profit come MoP, when all is said and done, I'd be pretty surprised. Saronite shuffle is still viable, even pushing 30-40g per stack, so you don't NEED to drop below vendor price in order to make a good investment with cheap ore.
