    Your First Big Purchase

A radio show I used to listen to would often interview celebrities. At the end of every interview, they would always ask the same question. "What was the first big purchase you made after you 'made it'?" The responses varied anything from a house to designer clothes to some crazy obsession. So I ask my fellow goblins: What was your first big purchase when you finally "made it" as a goblin?

I recently hit a big milestone, and finally reached the 300k mark. Woo hoo!! To celebrate, I made my first BIG purchase. I'm not talking about a [Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth], [Mekgineer's Chopper], or even [Vial of the Sands], though those are big in their own right. I went out and found a [X-51 Nether-Rocket X-TREME] for 135k and snatched it up.

Let's hear it folks! What was your first BIG purchase when you "made it" as a goblin?

Does a true goblin ever think he has "made it"? I'm not really very rich but I have all of the mounts you said. I got lucky and got the X-51 in my Cataclysm collector's edition (from the loot card).

I guess for me it was when I accomplished all my goals and had naught left to pursue in WoW. Having my WT app approved was a big moment, but kind of anticlimactic as it was like what next?

Epic flying about five minutes after dinging 70. Left me with 6g and some silver, but was only person in guild to have it. Since we usually flew to raids as a group, I had many, many chances to rub that in.

Buying up mounts to get the first Albino Drake was also a brutal hit to the wallet. That grind was what showed me I really needed to build up a slush fund for buying toys.

I only got in to the gold making business "for real" to get a crimson deathcharger, somewhere in october last year. When i found this site i went to 100k pretty fast, and then 4.3 hit so i broke 200k almost immediatly. I ended up paying 180k for it, but it was worth every copper.

@Nichosis : Now you could buy nearly three of them for that money. At least on my server. Thanks to that crappy dupe-wave

But anyways, in the end it is worth what it is worth to you. So congrats on that purchase and that you are happy with it. I will be able to report my first big purchase next week. Lets see if it turns out well and I will post back here.

It's hard to decide, because what does really 'made it' mean. I have let loose several times, after reaching several milestones in the past. I guess the first was when I reached 10k or so during the early stages of Isle of Quel'danas dailies farm. Once we unlocked the last part where you can buy the title, I did for 1k! Felt like I threw money right out the window, at the same time as it felt rly good :P

Later, during wotlk I bought some mounts spread over time. Everything from the cheapest mamoth to the vendor one. Cant remember that I ever spent more then 50k on anything.

The first time I really spent a lot of gold was first day of cataclysm, after leveling. Realmfirst BS and JC was not conquered yet, so I went ahead and started leveling! 800k later I had realmfirst BS + the needed shadowspirit diamonds to finish off JC for realmfirst 4 days later. This was all after reaching the 1mill liquid goal about two months earlier, with excatly that goal in mind.

You may laugh, but my biggest purchase ever was my first epic mount at lvl 60. Not just for me, but for my spouse as well! My server started at the last days of BC when I began playing WoW too, hence server inflation was still very low and 150g was a small fortune - 300g a big one. I earned my gold from disenchanting green items from the AH and felt incredibly rich. I really thought I made it (hey, stop laughing! )

It was definitely my biggest purchase as it had a significant impact on the game for me no other mount had. Its impact lasted until lvl 77 when I was able to fly.

Why I don't consider my flying mount? Uh, well, you know, if your significant other pays the bill and you are in high debts from that moment on, it doesn't feel so big. I also didn't feel that rich anymore or thought I made it. I guess it has a reason she makes the financial plans in her company.

180k for a Deathcharger? Ouch, I doubt I'd have ever paid for one so I'm glad I got it back in Wrath from raiding.

I wouldn't say I've "made it" as I'm still working with pennies really but I already know my first big purchase will be buying epic flying for all my all alts since I have nine 85's not including my main and another in the works on the opposite faction.
    It's a Man's, Man's, Man's World.
