    Legion gold sinks

Now that it's out, what are the new gold sinks? I saw that 2 million gold spider mount...I have arachnophobia though, so they couldn't PAY me 2 million to use that thing with any frequency. Anything else people have found yet?

Raising the gold cap itself along with the amount you can list auctions for appears to be a gold sink with people listing the spectral tiger mounts for millions of gold now, but I bought all of the BOE TCG mounts over the past two expansions, so that's not an option for me. Presumably the BMAH max bid will be above a million now, so that will be a sink I take part in.

The new Kirin Tor rings (with hearth to the new Dal) sell for a meager 250k.

Pretty much anything sold by The Mad Merchant. a 1M gold pet, a 2M gold mount, a 500K gold 34 slot bag (there is no comparable crafted bag), and a 250K gold toy. I wonder if they realized that the bag would drain more gold if it weren't unique. Then again, I've got 15 lvl 100s all kitted out with 32 slot bags for all 11 slots (though some are using profession bags), and I suspect that anyone in my position would be hard pressed to consider 500K gold worth it for two slots.

Do you mean 30-slot bags? I thought the 30-slot Hexweave bags were the biggest available.

Is there any functional reason at all I'm missing for buying this? I bought the old one because the ability to teleport to Dalaran was a useful thing, but since they've given us a Dalaran hearthstone, this one seems like bullshit. Is it for people so rich and so uncaring about their gold and the time that went into making it (I'm rich, but care about the time that went into it) so you can feel nice about having an 850 item at level 101?

One thing to note about the rings--the old one teleports you to the old Dalaran in Northrend, and the new one teleports you to the new Dalaran in the Broken Isles. The tooltips should say that but don't.

It is 850 iLvl that you can use at level 101. So it's awesome for leveling (although not great bang for buck).

The teleport is virtually useless, because they give you a freakin' Dalaran hearthstone. So I can get to Dalaran with 1) the ring, 2) my hearthstone and 3) the Dalaran hearthstone. Talk about overkill. To boot, my main is actually a warrior, so I'm zipping all over the continent anyway.

    However.

I bought the ring. Nostalgia... and that's one item taken care of before raiding.

I've been staring at that ring for a week now, still drawing a blank. It has to be from a build before they decided to give everyone a second Dalaran hearthstone for free. That's a bucketload of gold for a single gear slot (and it will be vendor bait this time next year). Maybe if it was BoA...

And then in a twinkling, a sound gave me pause,
From the roof came the scratching of eight tarsal claws.

The only sinks that have drawn my gold are the newly-raised BMAH bid of just under 10 million gold and that new Battle.NET balance for gold change that went in yesterday. Arachnophobia still prevents me from buying that spider. I'm to the point now where I count myself lucky when one of the ~1% mounts goes for under a million. I had to shell out just under 3 mil for the Swift Zulian Tiger, but that's the first time it had EVER been for sale on my realm, so it was worth it. Seems like the chances of a mount going up on the BMAH are similar to the odds of them dropping in dungeons given the many hundreds of days that have passed without seeing something like Blazing Drake, Mimiron's Head, etc.
