    Farming Old School

Since Cataclysm has hit, I've been rushing around leveling and putting gold ideas to work. For fun, I brought my paladin into Zul'Aman (she's level 83). I cleared everything and made 671g profit.

    - All trash cleared (100g in change/vendor trash).
    - 6/6 bosses (300g overall).
    - 3 money bags (51g overall).
    - 200g from purples vendored.
    - 20g looted from the first chest.
    - 2 chests achieved.
    - 3+ Mojos: I saved one for my paladin, another lurking in my bags, and the third one disappeared I had the second in my bags.
    - BoE blue dropped, which goes for 100-125g on the AH. Vendor by mistake. 8(

    = 30g repair bill.
    = 1-2 hours.
= Going for 3 or 4 chests next week.

Not a bad little profit for those who need gold asap. It looks like it restarts every other day, like ZG. I'm thinking once I hit 85 and get some heroic gears, I'll charge a fee to run a level 70 twink through = 300-500g or more? Overall: there's areas which I could of made more (4 chests, disenchanting, etc).

Now if I was to grind other raids, I wonder what I'd get? I'll have to get back to you guys on that. Leave your input!

It has a 3 day reset timer, same as ZG had. It's good gold but Molten Core in my opinion gives much much more gold (e.g. sulfuron ingots, blood of the mountain, fiery cores, lava cores, dark iron ore, etc).

Karazhan should also be very good gold because there is a ton of trash in there which are very easily killed and should yield more loot per hour than ZA does.

If ZA works for you though, keep it up

If you mean [Mojo] the pet, that is BoP, so getting multiple doesn't really help. Another one that isn't bad if you have good gear, is flame leviathan. I soloed him on 10m with an average ilvl of around 350 needing no vehicle swap, but it was close. Netted 170ish gold plus drops. Clearing the trash is fairly quick too, since the vehicle damage scales with ilvl.

1-2 hours is way too long. I agree with Sin about Molten Core. The bosses in there now have hitpoints that are on par with elite mobs from 80-85 and they do level 60 damage while you now put up 2-3 times the amount of damage you did at 80. That's a winning combo right there. With guild achievements, people are in need of Ingots and other drops, nevermind that the BOEs tend to sell well to levelers.

AQ20 (now 10) is also a very quick gold run where I am in there 30-45 minutes and walk out with 250g or so in coin. I also like to go there for the Vanilla enchants. A tanking class can easily get through the first 4 bosses in AQ40 now, I haven't tried Huhu yet but I intend to.

    Coming from a rogue's perspective...

    Zul'Aman
Pretty easy to solo the trash for the hexing sticks/other random drops. I think I attempted to kill a boss and failed at it.

    Karazhan
The trash is in groups of 8 or so, and drop 50s off of the non-elites. Very easy to farm them/reset, or even kill the bosses. The gear vendors/disenchants for more than the ones from MC. Sadly I haven't been able to solo the chess fight.

    Molten Core
The bosses go down in seconds, and are very basic. Some of the trash can drop bloods of the mountain, there are nodes to mine, and the bosses drop about 50g each (Except for Ragnaros, which drops 120). The gear doesn't disenchant for much, but you can also get some nice BoP recipies and BoE enchanting formulas.

I know during TBC you used to be able to solo Chess. Like any class with any gear level could stealth to chess by using a combination of invisibility/stealth potions and their class abilities, it just took time. I know they then did something to fix it but I'm not sure if they just changed the trash or if they changed the boss mechanics. I would recommend just running a search on "How to solo chess" or something.

I forgot all about farming. I'm not a big farmer though. I might go try MC, but the big money makers ([Formula: Enchant Weapon - Healing Power] + [Formula: Enchant Weapon - Spellpower]) are now 1-2k cheaper than they used to be, so not as great as it was.

Oh well. Still fun and something to do, when I'm not busy spending gold gearing alts!

Are the Lava Cores and Fiery Cores still actually worth anything on your guys' servers? I know that after the zone revamp and free revered Thorium Brotherhood reputation from questing they became nearly worthless on mine.

I flip the cores for 25-50g when I see them. Usually one guy will come in and wipe them all out.
