    Feeling lost and burnt out.

I was feeling burnt out after weeks of posting, twice a day on multiple toons. I decided to take a week off, I had hit gold cap and was looking forward to a break. After a week off, I couldn't find the motivation and took another week... and another and another. My guild banks are a mess, my bankers are a mess. I'm sure I could clean it all up but I'm severly lacking in motivation. Havent scanned the AH in weeks either. Almost feel like I should clear it all out and start over with just buying and selling. All the rare patterns I have picked up never sell, the rare items either......

Honestly if you're on a smaller server, which it seems from the pattern sales, it's not always easy to be motivated as sales are few and far between.

If you really want to get back in the gold game though, look at it as a challenge, getting your posting and all your toons organized to efficiently and effectively conquer the market, set some goals for yourself.

If you're really not that motivated, then just don't do it. 1 million gold should hold you until WoW dies, unless you have an affinity for rare mounts or loose women.

At the end of the day it's just a game within a game, and if you don't enjoy it anymore, why do it?

Which gold cap? Pre-Cata? 999k? Server? Account? If your only motivation was to simply see a 6 digit number, then it's very easy to burn out. A million gold to me is a month's pay, but my goals are far different. If all you ever wanted was a million, then congrats. For some people, this is the extent to which they should play. I went over a million the first time in Wrath, and I have no end goal amount in mind, because for me a person can never be rich enough.

Maybe liquidate what you have over time if you're done? That's the difference between people like myself and others - I'd feel poor and almost broke if all I had was a million, while others look at that amount as the cure to all their ills. All perspective. A million to me is just a 7 digit number, that reminds me of an odometer.

Empty all your bags over the course of an evening as you have dinner/watch tv/read etc so that you don't lose anything when your mail expires.

    Un-sub, log off.

Active your steam account and check out some of the games on sale as well as some of the awesome indie games

Take a break and don't feel guilty! To many people get into the mindset that they need to keep 'working' in WoW, but it's a game you should be having fun!

I "burn out" on professions from time to time. Usually I shift focus to my lesser used ones or even non-goldmaking things. try to establish new goals, maybe some that will work against your goldmaking ones. For instance go for certain items on the BMAH or other expensive thing.

Excluding taking a break, buy something really expensive, put effort into other parts of the game (this can involve spending money such as buying the best gear for an alt to raid/PvP). There's nothing like feeling poor to motivate you

Sometimes it can just be best to have a break until you miss the game again, i have had various breaks in my time. If it's not fun and you have no motivation you won't enjoy it and you are going to be put off even more.

A different spin on what @Dirtycache said, just let the mail expire or just vendor everything as trying to sell it or even give it away can take a few days/week(s) which only adds to the boredom. Done that few times and it can feel like a monkey off your back (when you return) and lets you start afresh without the ominous task of sorting out your inventory.

I think a lot of people burn ount on wow.
For me, I love scanning my iphone for deals.
    Moving items cross faction.
    Crafting when I get home.
I don't play any other video games.
And I have played one video game or another since 1979-80 when I got the sears version of atari 2600.
I remember dumping quarter after quarter in asteroids.
And I have been a video game addict since then.
Warcraft two accounts every month is all the quarters I ever to dump in to get my fix.

Are you enjoying WoW other than the AH? Then forget the AH for awhile. If you are burned out on all of it, then take a break.

It sounds like you have a flicker of interest in getting back into the AH game. If that's true, then clean house. Dump all of those patterns and rare items. Just dump them. Put them up for stupid low prices, or give them away to random lowbies, or vendor the damned things. It's a game. If just seeing them in your inventory/banks triggers the blahs, then purge them.

Once the patterns/rare items are gone, then take another break. Like @PhatLewts said, 1 million will hold you comfortably for a long time (assuming this is what you meant by "cap").

I'm more in the @Zerohour or @jimmyolsenblues school. There's just so much to do, and so many ways of doing it, that I wish I had more time for it all. I've played the AH game on a medium/low population server for ages, and while I have every intention of maintaining my current presence there, I want to see what it's like to get involved on the big servers. I am still sorting out how to approach that, but I'm looking forward to it. And I'm dabbling around in Diablo 3 again after almost a year away. And it's Spring and there's lots to do outside. And...

Just do what you enjoy. But purge that stuff that isn't selling. I LOVE the idea of selling patterns and transmog, because they're different markets and I want to be involved with all markets. But on my server patterns and transmog just waste my inventory space. Sounds like that may be the case for you, too.

I'm pretty well burned out on the game itself other than the AH. It's just drudgery, it's not fun or enjoyable other than crafting and selling, and Blizzard can give f-all about that part of it. About ready to hang it up. I was going to stick around to 5.3 to kill Garrosh but I hate 5.2 so much I am not sure I can hold out for 5.3.
