    Gathering prep

I have a DK miner/herbalist and I plan to outfit him with gloves made from [Pattern: Herbalist's Gloves] with [Enchant Gloves - Gatherer] (Toggle Mats) . I believe this is the best combo for a net gain +10 Herbalism/+5 Mining.

An engineering miner could also use [Goblin Mining Helmet] with [Enchant Gloves - Gatherer] (Toggle Mats) for +10 Mining.

Am I missing any other buffs?

Edit: Oops - Can enchant those gloves, item level too low.

Are you talking about this for leveling during Cataclysm or just powerleveling?

At one point during the game, having +Mining was advantageous, but this was during AQ20/40. Overall the enchant has become actually useless. If you're trying to powerlevel the profession, these may come in handy for certain zones or certain points at which you are 5-10 points below the next level and you don't have to rot the node. But, currently there is no real reason to consistently use any of these enchants as they removed the possibility to fail during mining, herbing, or skinning as long as the node is orange to you. I guess I may be misunderstanding your need here.

Now for fishing, however, these types of enchants are very helpful when you aren't fishing pools. I remember back when BC launched I was camping El's site to get my list of enchants together so I could be the first on the server to get Mr. Pinchy and the pet. I got the catch the first thing upon dinging 70, and as far as I'm aware I was the first on the server with the pet.

With Cata however, you will be gaining double skillups for completing certain tasks, so I'd save powerleveling for that point. But if you are already 450 mining/herbalism, it will more than likely be like Wrath was where the first nodes are completely available to you at 350 skill and you should be more than ready to get the next level node upon graduating from the zone.

For some reason the cynic in me sees people farming the nodes immediately the first night just to put 200g per stack ores/herbs on the AH.

Yes I was referring to leveling during Cataclysm. This will be my first expansion I am playing at launch and I guess I assumed that these enchants would be helpful to move onto the next level node faster. My DK will be just a farmer and it might be a while before he is 85, heck right now he is only 77 and maxed out in both around level 72. Note - I do plan to level him to 80 so I go into the new cataclysm zones.

Forget the enchants then. If you're rolling 450/450 then you're going to be fine. You can always keep them in your bags however and just equip them when you need them, but I don't think you will if you actively seek out nodes to farm.

In BC, having the enchants was a small benefit. In Wrath, not so much, except by the time you got to Dragonblight, if I remember correctly, Frozen herbs were sitting at 425 skill. Given you will probably get flying skill right away I'd simply level the skill in the zone while you're there.
