Hey guys

after a few months i started playing WoW again and wanted to get into the whole ore shuffling business. i have done that in the past and it was always fun and pretty rewarding.

now i have a macro that i use to prospect the ores with, i just spam that all the time and watch a movie on the 2nd screen or something.

what came to my attention: the character picks up the prospected items A LOT slower than it used to be (autoloot). like i prospect 5 ores, then the window pops up, and then it loots the gems one by one with a time difference of 2+ seconds between each gem. this slows down the whole process a lot and definitely wasn't like this in the past. it always used to be like: prospect, window pops up, everything in it is looted in 1sec or less, and next ores are prospected. now this isnt possible anymore and it takes 2 or 3 times as long to prospect the ores. sometimes even an error message pops up saying "object is busy" or "another action in process" or something.

its not my connection, and it's not the zone either. i tried this in og, in dalaran in much more deserted areas like the stormspire or some small village with a mailbox, nothing works as it used to.

did blizzard change anything? is it some addon fucking up? or what's the deal here?

So, for those that don't know Tin is a bit of a gateway material for several professions.

Not tin itself, but Bronze and Moss Agate.

I've been having a pretty lucrative time smelting Bronze, but often find myself with a high imbalance between my Copper and Tin supply, so I've started to prospect for Moss Agate whenever I end up with too much Tin and Moss Agate prices are worth selling.

Now my question:

You get a bunch of other gems from prospecting Tin too, so what do you guys do with them?

On my server they all seem to be less than a gold (sometimes Shadow Gems are higher) so I'm too lazy to post then on the AH.

Hi guys, though not currently being active in the glyph market, I have been earlier. The problem with glyph selling is how to reduce the number of glyphs you market down to a manageable number. Wouldn't it be great to be able to pick out the 144 (3x36) most profitable glyphs so you could repost without visiting the bank?

My strategy was to check the price scatterplot on the undermine journal, look at the right tail, and remove those that tended to have a low price.
Shimmering ink glyphs I eventually gave up - they were very popular and sold alot, but prices rarely climbed much higher than 20g.

Since glyph prices fluctuate so much, the most robust way of picking glyphs would be to post all equally for, say, two months, set a treshold for how much money you want for your milling keyclicks and pick those that would generate the most profit. Depending on the threshold this wouldn't have to be the ones selling for the highest average price, as cheaper ones could generate more profit through higher sales.

I recently entered the market for mop enchants. Choosing which ones to stay away from is easy - the crafting cost is less click dependant, the price floor is pretty equal across realms due to the vendor value of jewelry and wowuction region prices, I believe, gives a pretty good indicator of whether you should craft the enchant or not.

TL;DR: What do you believe is a practical strategy in choosing which glyphs to focus on?

Hello,

This is my first post. I usually lurk a bit from time to time on these forums but now I need help from the experts. I'm not smart enough to learn spreadsheet maths so I thought I'd try asking. I'm trying to get a feel for what the lowest cost would be to post rare gem prices (purple, green, orange mostly) and still make a profit.

I buy the following:

Stacks of GIO @ 65g/stack or less (usually no lower than 58g/stack on my server)
Golden lotus @ 55g each or less (usually no lower than 50g on my server)

Prices range anywhere from 50g to 100g per purple, green, orange cut. I have a transmute master and I've been doing more transmuting than jewelry/disenchant to make scrolls since the enchanting market seems to have low prices and just as much competition. Am I right to assume that as long as I'm charging over what I pay for a golden lotus then I must be making a profit?

I'm sure these questions have been asked multiple times. If anyone as links to some helpful thread that would be awesome. Any advice on my situation is greatly appreciated.

So I'm completely new to the Cata and MoP expansions, and so I'm trying to get myself back into the professions. I used to Ore Shuffle a little back in Wrath with Saronite Ore, but I never took it past the blue gems. Jewelry, and dis-enchanting for mats was never part of what I did and was probably missing out on a lot of gold back then.

So now I'm back to WoW, having a good time, and trying to setup my professions on my characters to best make some money.

My main is a druid, and so with flight form, it's great to farm with her, so I have Alchemy, and Herbalism. Once alchemy is 600 (leveling it up now) I'll probably drop Herbalism for JC. I dropped 450 Inscription for Alchemy, and that was probably the wrong choice, but it's done now.

Another alt of mine I was considering Enchanting, and something else?

I considered also creating a new Scroll of Res account, and creating the 80 Druid, so I can have a seperate miner/herbalist for farming since my main druid isn't going to have it anymore.

My end goal is really get into the Ore Shuffle, and make some money. I'm on a Medium population server, but the raiding scene is completely dead. I think 3/12 heroic is as far as anyone has gotten, and that's Horde, and I'm Alliance.

I really appreciate any help. I'm willing to put the time in to raise up any profession, and I've got about 10k gold right now to work with.

Thank you!

Hello goblins

Lately i've been trying to step up my gold making, and since I'm a jewelcrafter, I'm trying to make some money on it.

The problem as of now is my math I think. I major in statistics and Economics, but this is still proving somehow difficult to adress.

So, basic probability had me especting 1 blue gem per stac, plus 5 shards and 5-6 uncommon gems.

Then comes the problem. Since uncommon gems dont get me much money, i fixed their cost in around 1g (witch is close to the market prices) Uncomon Gems are at 60g (prices of a stack of GIO in my server) and shards i disregard.

So, my threshold for blue cuts is 60g, a little bit on the safe side.

I also have a transmutation master, so i have my cost (and threshold) for primal diamonds at around 360g, and buy golden lotus under 55g to get make some on demand blues.

My problem is that for some reason, raw gem prices are WAY diferent (Rivers heart is sitting at 40g, cutted it drops to 15g)

so im acumulating all this stock of blues, some reds and purples...

Now, For some reason i dont like the idea of selling raw gems. it just feels wrong, and also im not sure about that demmand

So, my questions are: am i doing the pricing right? should I expect for blues to go back up? how do i get rid of the kobolds? should i be selling my raw blues, reds or any gem when they are not profitable to cut?

Dont even get me started on perfect procs, sinces i cant seem to factor them in, as they prices are really crazy

Any guidance is appreciated.

On a side note, im currently using tsm on fixed mat cost with those settings, and crafting with the expected income of the lowest buyout according to scans, not sure if that is too conservative or not.

As you probably know by now, the secret shoulder enchants will be nerfed to 1.85g in 5.3.
This will absolutely demolish herbalism - and by extention alchemy (i mean who here uses alchemy for anything else than living steel?)

I don't know what blizz can do to make it more likely that people will use a golden lotus on a flask rather than on a gem, but something absolutely has to be done.

Why would anyone want to farm or buy herbs in 5.3?
As it is now, they wouldn't.

I'm guessing Blizz has something up their sleeves, because even though the secret vendoring was stupid, it was the one and only reason for farmers to have herbalism. Now no one will buy their herbs.

Thoughts?

I just wanted to hear your opinions on dropping Herbalism for Blacksmithing on my lvl 90 mage. My mage is atm an inscriptor/herbalism, but since I'm not really using herbalism for anything and maxed it jsut for the achievement, I was wondering whether to drop it for BS or not, because of the major BS changes there has been since I've returned from my break.
It doesn't necessarily have to be BS, I have had Alchemy in the cards aswell.
I already have characters with JC/mining, LW/skinning and Ench/Engi.

Any advice? Is it too late to get into the whole BS business or should I simply just roll Alchemy instead?

Does anyone have advice on which suffixes sell the best for Shadowfire Necklace and Ornate Band? Since these are leveling items, seems like hit/spirit/expertise would be the least desirable stats. I was thinking that most people level as DPS, rather than tanking or healing so DPS stats are most desirable. But my tanking Misthide Drapes seem to sell really well so maybe I'm wrong.
Here's my best guess as to the more desirable suffixes - would love to see others comment as to their experiences with what sells best.

So I currently have a Death Knight as my main which has Enchanting and Blacksmithing. When I heard about the changes regarding Spirit of Harmony pre-MoP release I was annoying to be honest. I hated that you had to go out to farm something that already has a low drop rate.

Well anyway, my thinking when it came to deciding on my professions for levelling a new main was that I wanted to get the most out of Spirit of Harmony. So I had to stick with a crafting profession. I decided to go with Blacksmithing since I already had a Tailor which is still on my level 85 Mage. However, it was also a profession I've never taken up. So I have BS and Enchanting on my main.

However, I am working on my 2nd level 90 and have decided on taking Alchemy as on of my professions. However, I am actually stuck between Jewelcrafting and Inscription.

Just to let everyone know, I transferred to a RP-PVE realm - Wyrmrest Accord if it helps. We are 140+ on US realm progression rankings. PVE isn't a very active scene. Therefore PVE items, enchants, gems often have very low turnovers and undercutting is common.

I was a bit disappointed with JC as well when I heard about the changes. I didn't really like the randomness to learn new cuts and the removal of dailies and tokens didn't help. JC however, doesn't really use any SoH besides having a 2nd research CD. I don't know much about Inscription. I've heard that you do need SoH for the daily CD. Would someone be able to shed more light on this? Since my warlock will be my alt, I don't plan spending any time doing dailies or farming once I hit level 90. Its purely a PVP/PVE toon.

I was wondering taking everything into consideration which of Inscription and Jewelcrafting should I level?
