  • TradeSkillMaster 2.0 Released!

It's now live on curse. Go and get it!

TradeSkillMaster 2.0 represents a massive overhaul of every aspect of TradeSkillMaster. Many aspects will be instantly familiar, but many more have been redesigned from the ground up. One of the core changes is the new group and operation system. In the past, many TSM modules had their own version of groups. Auctioning had its groups and categories, Crafting had enabled/disabled crafts and restock queue settings. Mailing organized items by target player, Shopping had shopping/dealfinding lists. Warehousing had its own groups. All those separate groups/lists caused a lot of redundancy and unnecessary complexity. With TSM 2.0, groups have become global, and modules get operations which can act on groups. Now, a group is nothing more than a collection of items, and the operations are what define the settings you wish to apply to those items for a given module. The feedback on this change has been very positive so far and we hope you'll appreciate the new simplicity of it. That's certainly not all that's changed. @PhatLewts did a nice teaser post here which covers some of the highlights. Remember that some things have chanced since that post thanks to all the great feedback we've gotten from beta testers.

There is a TON of information in our new sticky post on the forums (the one you're supposed to read before posting) including guides, where to suggestion features, and how to ask question. Go read it!

You will need to manually update your app from http://tradeskillmaster.com/tsm_app for it to work with 2.0 (specifically, the dealfinding notifications). Make sure to force an update for WoWuction every time you update your TSM_WoWuction addon!

FAIR WARNING: Due to the drastic difference between TSM groups and operations in 2.0 from Auctioning categories/groups in 1.x, they will not be imported. We found in testing that everybody who did have their Auctioning categories/groups imported deleted them and started from scratch after a short while anyways since 2.0's system is far superior and more powerful overall.

    BEFORE POSTING ISSUES / QUESTIONS:
    1. Read through the sticky. Seriously, it won't take longer than it will for me to delete your post if you have obviously not read it.
    2. Did you actually go and read it? If not, do that.

    Transition issues:
    • Make sure your AuctionDB and WoWuction get updated. Curse client will show them as modified and may not update them automatically.
    • After you update WoWuction, make sure to force an update in the TSM app if you're using it.

Nice job. But man, where did all my stuff go?
O well, back to getting my gems in a group that operates.

I'm pretty upset with this whole thing. I just spent two hours trying to get my glyph operation running the way it was pre-2.0 update. I really don't understand the purpose of this update. The addon worked 100% fine for me before and was vastly less confusing. Even the destroyer module is much slower...

If you read the sticky (the one that says to read it first), you'd see the links to various guides that would help you with TSM2. If you have specific questions, post them per the instructions in the sticky (and the OP of this thread).

Just tried the new v2 tsm and can't say I am impressed, unless I am missing something, it is now completely useless to me. What I used to do is open the window of a profession, click the tsm pane at the top of it to open the tsnm crafting window, click the top "+" to open the view all/expand all and then sort it by profit. This gave me a nice list of everything i could craft, sorted by profit so that I could go along and pick which ones I want to craft.

Firstly this now seems to have been completely removed, when I open the profession window, I have no visibility at all of the profit margni of anything on it unless I specifically click on each individual item, all I can see is the "crafting cost" which frankly I couldnt care less about, if It cost me 5m gold to make but i could get 10m gold in profit then I would make it and sell it. If it gost 10g to make but I would lose 5g in selling it then i wouldnt make it. The way this now seems to be set up, I cant do this at all.

Secondly even if the profit was shown in a column in this window, there is no way for me to simply list everything I can craft as one list sorted by profit margin so I would STILL need to go scrolling up and down the list looking for which things I want to sell.

Thirdly when doing all this, when I did find something I wanted to craft in the old version, I could simply left click it to queue it and that was it, job done. If I chanegd my mind I could right click it to unqueue it. Now I need to find the item, click on it then go down and click on the queue button or right click on the queue button to remove it, then go along to the next item, click on it, and go click the queue button again. Completely unnecessary steps which were not there before.

I am far from expert at using tsm but I can't see how I can do what I used to do before. I can see no way for me to be able to quickly take a look at the current profit margins for the things I can craft (sorted by profit), pick some, then craft them.
