TSM Logo Contest (With Prize!)

I started to work on one idea befor you replied, this is what i got right now. I have a few more ideas.
I know its not rectangular, well, whatever - you might like it... or not.
Feel free to criticize.

That's pretty nice, @Deathwarp . I might do something with the letters on the coin (more inset or something, perhaps?) because it kind of gets drowned out on the lower resolutions. The profession icons are a nice touch, though - I like how you incorporated them

I agree, I was working on that issue, but something more important came in my way Will do.
EDIT: Only thing i don't like is that i didn't use the oroginal Inscription icon because i couln't find a way to put it so it would look good and still recognizable.

That colour is definitely easier on the eyes. I still think that if the inset were deeper, the edges would make it stand out a bit more. Just not sure whether it would look less realistic or not . Also, have you tried reversing it, so that the lettering is raised instead? How would that look?

Round is good too! I added an update to the original post to hopefully clarify a question that a few people have asked.

I'm sorta kinda interested, but only leaving until Saturday doesn't give much time for those of us with jobs. Could you maybe extend it until Sunday? Also, what treatment is it likely to be needed in? Are we talking a full-colour bitmap image, or something that is likely to be used in outline form? What aspect ratio? Smallest vs largest possible size? These things matter

If you (or anybody else) plan on doing a logo and need until Sunday, just let me know on Friday night / Saturday morning that you're planning on submitting something by X time (including time zone) on Sunday and I'll be happy to extend it for you. I know this is a bit rushed but I'd like to get the new website up and running before the release version of TSM is released (/subtle release date hint).

As I mentioned in the original post, it's ok if it's big, it can always be resized later. Any of the sizes you submitted are fine. Thanks

The thing is, after a certain amount of downsizing, the text might become unreadable.

While messing around with an idea yesterday, I came across that problem. Before submitting a finished piece, it might be a good idea to scale it down once just to make sure it looks alright in any size.

So, the "banner" is going to be fairly large (like the size of Auctioneer's at the top of this page: Auctioneer addon for World of Warcraft). The logo should be able to be scaled to the size of the little forum icons that show up here: http://stormspire.net/forum.php

This is a nice concept, I'd like to see the reflection removed and the font made bigger, and the gear flattened out a bit.
