  • Make 3000G in 15 minutes (Cross Faction option)

A lot of people are currently working on the 200 recipe achievement IronChef, and if:

    1. You are able to create an Alliance toon;
    &
    2. You can move items cross faction.

You'll be able to make some nice gold in 15 minutes' work.

The whole point is to get which is a reward from an Alliance only Quest, but since you only need to be level 4 to accept the quest, it's very fast to create and level a new toon - do the quest, sell the recipe and start over.

    What to do:
    1. Create a Draenei hunter and log in (hunters are probably the fastest to level).
    2. Accept the quest [quest]You Survived![/quest] right in front of you as you enter. Turn it in.
    3. Accept [quest]Replenishing the Healing Crystals[/quest], do the quest and turn in. Accept [quest]Urgent Delivery![/quest] - but don't turn it in yet.
    4. Run a little west and accept: [quest]Volatile Mutations[/quest] (just kill the mobs, no need to loot) - when done turn it in.
    5. Accept [quest]What Must Be Done...[/quest] and [quest]Botanical Legwork[/quest] (right next to the NPC) - run west and do these. When done run back and turn them in (don't accept new ones).
    6. Run inside the house and turn in [quest]Urgent Delivery![/quest] (don't accept the new one).
    7. Go to the Hunter trainer, train Steady Shot.
    8. Accept and do [quest]Steadying Your Shot[/quest] - when done - turn it in.

At this point you are close to level 4, and you head out west. When you cross the river you run on the south side of the road and kill 6 Stags for 6 x

When you have 6 you run to Azure Watch and accept the quest [quest]The Great Moongraze Hunt[/quest] - turn in the 6 items and you'll get .

Mail it to your banker, log out and delete your toon.

All this is possible to do in less then 15 minutes.

12 minutes and 50 seconds - and i have sold 2 of the recipes on the horde side the last 4 days alone each at 3000G.

Awesome, never realized how easy it was to do this recipe. Front-paged!

It was in the Stormspire for a couple of days before he posted it in the public forums.

      Good guide though.

This really is a great way of making gold, at the moment just this week I have sold 4 recipes for the suggested price of 3000g which utterly blew me away when I saw myself gradually sell out and had to quickly farm a couple more.

Great guide but sadly this doesn't work for me , I dunno if it's about the low population of hordes on my realm or just because 3k is too much for them. My recipe was up for about 2-3 weeks now noone even offer lower price via mail. Gonna try and put it on something like 2.5 even 2k and see how it goes.

Been doing this for 2 weeks now, soley by buying the patterns on the alliance side and sending them over to horde. It would seem someone has picked up their popularity on the alliance side and i can now pick up at least 1 a day for 120g.

Man, I started posting one at 3k. The next week another guy joined me and we have been slowly undercutting each other, and now are at 1200g. 0 sales. Really frustrating. I was wondering if I should try and sell it through trade and barking it as alli only? :\

Gave this a go as well. I read the cross faction guide a while back so it wasn't fresh in my mind. Imagine my horror after setting up a couple 1c auctions, logging over to a horde toon and getting the "you cannot bid on your own auctions" error. Whoops. Logged back REAL fast. Low pop server, I don't think anyone does cross trading regularly. Anyway, after that small snafu, got a buddy to help me out for a small tip, a week later after listing one for 3k, no bites, dropped it to 2200g it sold over night. Sold one more at that price since then and am now listing one at 2500. We'll see if they go for that.

I had my recipe up for 4k for exactly 1 day. Next day someone else posted 4 of them for 190G /facepalm

In that case, I'd buy them and relist one of them at 4k... hopefully at the very least, he'll figure out to list them higher when he comes back to u/c you... I sell notched jawbones just about every day... I sell them for about 1k and a couple of times I've had someone pop one up at 250g... I just went in, bought it and left my listing as is... and then mine still sells and I have one in my mailbox for the next day. Of course, if I do that and the nimrod keeps coming back and now starts posting multiple items at 250g, if it's below mat price, I'll buy them... if it's a bit above, I may leave them and hopefully the idiot will burn himself out with a very low profit.

Actually I did, and guess what. The fool just posted 4 more for 190G. Now I'm stuck with 5 recipes

Ouch... ok... failed experiment... Put them into the bank and hopefully the idiot will stop doing it after a bit with such a low profit margin.

*Edit* At such a low cost, I'd be tempted to do it once more (buy his 4)... figuring that he will post more mind you... but would eventually tire of doing it for so little profit - and when he does, you'd have almost 10 of them that you could post one at a time for 3000g+... Yes, it's a risk... but a fairly low cost one if you've got the pockets for it.

Realize that at 190g for 15min its still a GPH of nearly 800g and if this person isn't that good with his professions or farming this may be the best he has ever had, in which case continuing to buy him out will not help.

Also depending on how long he does this for it could be months before the market recovers and lets you post at 3k without being considered way overpriced.

I hear ya... at best I was suggesting to do it once more... but I see what you're saying. HM... if it's something you feel is worth pursuing, a friendly email explaining that they you both can make alot more gold by pushing the price higher (and only listing 1 at a time) might be worth it. He'll listen and cooperate, or he won't. All you've wasted is a couple mins of your time if he tells you to pack sand - or ignores you.

Obviously, unless he listens and cooperates, it's probably a dead market for awhile... even if he does cooperate, there are 2 of you that will be competing...

I've never been a big fan of showing your hand like this. It essentially tells your competitor "hey, your strategy is working, cut it out" . If someone told that to me, it would probably spur me on, if anything. If he's just clearing out stock, no need to give him reason to top up, is there?

This thread reminds me of my RealID status this past weekend, where I bought ~8k Elementium Ore below my buy threshold.

I am also often reluctant to provide any feedback to my competition, even if they are totally ruining a milk run. If someone is doing something so stupid that tends to mean they are...stupid! And no amount of education is going to change that. As you say it often simply encourages them to carry on because they either think they are winning if you are trying to negotiate or they are the attention seeking type who enjoy the fact you are unhappy.

In most cases i just let these type of people get it out their system. The vast majority of the time they either do realise they could do things better (if their not completely stupid) or get bored and move on.

I tried this as my first venture into cross faction trading. Created a horde warlock on my new second account and got her to level 5 so far. She sold the first recipe for 2499G and a second for 2999g within the space of 4 days. There have been no other recipes on either AH and this is definitely the highest GPH venture I've tried. Amazing tip for my server.

Having done this from the start the issue i am now encountering is i have gone from selling one a day to not having had a sale in around two weeks. I think i may have sold one to every collector on the horde side as i do not even have any competition to effect my sales.
