  • Ironforge Limited Supply Route - 3 Minutes 32 Seconds = 7g Cost, +-1,000

I first released this in the Stormspire the other day because it's a technique that immediately becomes less effective when there are many competitors who enter the market at once. And that is pretty much what the Stormspire is designed for. Decided to move it into the public forums now.

This guide contains relatively basic knowledge that items can be bought from vendors and often resold on the AH as a profit. Even though to most 1,000g isn't that much, any seasoned gold maker should by now appreciate how all the tiny trickles of income all add up in the end.

So a while ago I released my Outlands Limited Supply - A Lucrative Market Guide and it was a huge success.
Now this kind of strategy can be applied all over World of Warcraft.

Here is a quick example of how I spent 3 minutes and 32 seconds, 6 gold and came out with an estimated profit of 733 gold. Unfortunately this guide is only for the Alliance since it's based on Ironforge Vendors, but the Horde Equivalent items can be found in Orgrimmar too from the equivalent suppliers.

I know the video didn't come out all thaaaat wonderful, so below I've got a nice map for you describing where to go as well as links to all the NPCs so you can just find them on Wowhead's maps.

    Somethings to keep in mind:

    • Not all the items listed below were available in the video due to them not spawning at that time.
    • My purchase prices might be a bit lower than yours if you are not Exalted with Ironforge.
    • Yes the profit IS server dependent, and they do sell differently on different servers. Generally if there aren't any up, you should just throw the item up for 80-150g because in reality 150g is next to nothing at level 85.

Great guide, but it seems on my server the players on both sides had long learnt how to make money using limited recipe /cry. Just out of curiousity though, how long did it take to flip them? Thanks.

Some sell better than others, for example the Tailoring Tuxedo items are really hot sellers for about 80-200g each.

Thanks for this guide. I have been doing the Outlands one and have made several thousand gold.

It is nice that my Bank/Auction toon is located in IF. Post auctions, gather recipes, then post again.

Thanks for that writeup. I've only managed to sell two of the recipes you listed, but despite that I still made a solid ~200 gold profit!

There is little to no competition for these items on my server, something that will hopefully increase my chances of selling the rest.

I was able to pick up every item in the Iron Forge list. I have one simple question that I am unclear on. Do I post them in the IF Auction House, or is this intended for cross-faction posting? Thanks for all of your hard work!I am on Whisperwind, so hopefully I can sell them for a good profit. We will see.

All the faction auctions houses are connected (Ironforge, Stormwind, Exodar, etc). I normally just sell them on my own faction, but you could try cross faction too. However I believe horde have the exact same items available to them in their cities too.

Thank you so much, Sinshroud! That is exactly what I was needing to know. If both Alliance and Horde have these available, I see no worth in posting cross faction. My items are selling very slowly, but I have already made a small profit so cannot complain.

That sucks to hear, have you sold all the items?

What I do is I throw all of them into a TSM group with a threshhold of 20g and a fallback of 150g. That way I will *ALWAYS* make at least like 15 gold profit minimum. If the price is below that then I simply just don't post the item, or sometimes have it set to post at the fallback price in the hopes that the competition will get burned through and then your items will sell.

Something you can also try is buying out your competition. This a market where there isn't usually more than like 10 of the same outlands item on a competitive server, and if they are prices at maybe 30g each then you going to spend 300 gold resetting the market. 300 gold really isn't that much, plus you get to save yourself time from needing to fly around restocking while selling your competitors 30g items for 150g or what ever.

I believe the Sagefish recipes are unlimited quantity? Not sure if this changed recently, but when I bought the recipes, there was no (1) on the item to indicate that it was limited. I bought two of each just to make sure.

A couple of them are no longer limited supply, but even still they can be great sellers. Most vendor sold pets aren't limited supply yet they also sell very well.
