  • Consortium Competition! INCOMING!

Hey folks, Sinshroud here and this time I'm in charge of the next upcoming The Consortium Forum Competition! *laughs evilly*.
I've put a lot of thought and effort into planning this competition and I promise you it's going to be a VERY interesting, fun and rewarding competition that will require you to complete a set of tasks anyway you wish and document it as you go.
This means you do not have to be an expert wow entrepreneur to win the competition - you can win it purely by hard work and being innovative if you want it enough.

We also have some awesome and interesting prizes lined up.

Last competition we had a bit of an oops-mix-up in terms of if you may or may not use your blog readerbase/followers to benefit you in the competition. We recognize the effort that it takes to maintain a blog and we want to be able to provide a reward for all your hard work. So we ARE going to allow you to use your followers to your benefit - BUT there is a twist.

    The Twist:
Upon voting time, only forum members that have been registered for 15 days or more and have 3 or more posts will be able to vote for who's entry they think is the best. You will see that we now have an Entrepreneur and Apprentice Rank. Members get elevated from Apprentice to Entrepreneur by being registered for 15 days + having 3 or more posts.
Therefore you know what you have to do? Get your readers/followers onto the forums and get them active!

The competition will start on 10th April and end on 10th May (~1 month long), so between now and then, you have the opportunity to try and convince your blog followers to join our awesome community that we have here - therefore also qualifying them to vote for you in the competitions

BUT (now here comes the real twist)

You may *NOT* make a post on your blog / notify your readers/followers in anyway of the up-coming competition.
If you want your followers to be able to vote for your entry, you need to convince them to join The Consortium Forums simply by convincing them that it's a forum community that they would benefit by being part of.

In other words you need to promote the forum - honestly of course, no saying that we give out free gold at the end of the month or something :P, as long as you do *NOT* mention / link to the competition in any way until the day that the voting officially starts.

Once the voting has officially started you may then post your competition entry on your blog as well as notify your readers about the competition if you wish.

P.S. Just wanted to clarify a few things first:
The last competition we had, there were mainly two sides: those who were unhappy that people with blogs could use it to turn the competition in their favor, and those who were unhappy that they couldn't use their blogs. I believe this competition is a nice compromise of the two and it benefits the forums as well.

P.S X2 I just wanted to add a little snippet from the actual Competition Announcement Post:

Shamelessly forcing people to "honestly" promote you. Haha, I had a good laugh reading this. Its innovative, yet sneaky and devilish. Like Golddiggers (wow)worldwide.

Given that the competition is directed at people with blogs that have readers/followers, how would a non-blogger participate? I've read it through twice and I'm not seeing how.. did I miss a bit?

They are just establishing the rules for those with blogs. The last competition involved writing a guide here in the forums. After they were all submitted, people voted. Those with blogs had a bit of an advantage because they could recruit their readers to come here to vote.

I was going to surprise you all but in light of Gwenne's comment, I think a small snippet from the actual Competition Announcement post is on order:
