The Great Stormspire Scavenger Hunt my reasons for competing!

Rate this Entry
Not going to be too much insightful stuff here as far as gold making goes, but I thought it would be fun to share with everyone why they were competing against me.

1) Mainly I'm fairly new to the whole competitive gold making process, where the amount of gold i could actually earn in a given time could be measured against someone else doing the same thing. As such I really wanted to see how well I could stack up against the other contestants, many of whom have probably been making large amounts of gold longer than i have.

2) I had been getting bored with wow of late, and it provided a much needed diversion to keep me actively engaged in playing (TBH I'm already missing looking for stuff for the contest... and can't wait to hear about the next one)

3) I was hoping to get out and try new gold making methodologies that i either didn't think i had time to incorporate into my current routines, or was hesitant to jump into on my home server for a variety of reasons.

4) I was hoping for some communication in game between the contestants, to strategize, or discuss gold making strategies, or something along those lines. More than what ended up happening, but I'm not really sure how I would've improved it. Perhaps if we all had separate lists of items, so we were only competing on what we were making gold doing, not what we were spending it on, might have made people a bit more open to discussion.

5) Who doesn't like prizes? Though i probably would've participated even if there weren't any... You know... just for the bragging rights

As for #4, my goal of winning stopped me from being too friendly.

#2 and #3 were goals of mine from an "admin" perspective as well. RE: #4 - that's a big one for me as well, and it's largely why I proposed the Wind Trader guild on Emerald Dream a year ago
