Noob to Noob, surviving on a Low pop server the first 30 Days.

End of first Thirty Days.

So I missed my Wednesday post due to the fact I had to vacate my house immediately and am now hacking internet from my van under I-95 next to McDonalds. (Apparently in Florida there are all these strange laws……like it’s illegal to sell meth out of your own garage…who would know this?)

So I made two mile stones, the first is I actually was able to do some gold making most of my first 30 days, and second I made 100,000g. Again my purpose of my blog is to see if an end game raider with limited time can make a decent amount of gold in under an hour a day and record the results. I logged my time and the truth is the longest I spent was 48 minutes but usually about 30 minutes a day or less.

The Process

Daily cooldowns on leatherworking, enchanting and engineering.
Spirits of Harmony on two farm plots
Crafting MOP gems to have 5 of the popular and 2 of the not so popular on AH at any given time
Crafting enchants in the same manner as JC
Doing a cancel then post scan mid-morning
Doing a cancel then post scan late evening (do this to ensure 100% market uptime rather than undercut)
Search transmog gear from TSM group
Do disenchant search under shopping tab on TSM
Search for MOP crafting mats for jewel crafting engineering and leatherworking
Time for above, right about half an hour.

The Results

Post on WarcraftEcon makes Archeology look awesome.-untitled-jpg

Where To Go From Here

My goal is to do the same boring thing day after day after day. There are some new things I want to learn but honestly I am just using gold making as a tool for my raiding, i.e. stocking bank having all needed raid mats and some Black Market AH play. Mission accomplished. But there are some things I want to learn.

First I really want to figure out the crafting operations in TSM, watched Phat;s video, seemed awesome and easy…. then I tried it and got things went wrong. Would not show all my crafting skills, got like these red lines that said filtered items, things just disappeared…… TSM sent me an email calling me a loser…..stuff like that. Was going to either spend time last night learning crafting or getting sushi, you know how that ended. Since I am only keeping minimal items at any time on the AH not sure if I should even really put forth the effort to see where I am messing up.

Second I want to learn battle pet flipping. I was thinking of buying them on a more populated server and then selling them with my banker on the low pop server. Everyone says I am just fulfilling a fantasy about being an illegal smuggler of exotic animals but I like to think of myself as helping other people fulfill their dreams of owning that exotic battle pet, being the envy of all and basically feeling good about themselves……..for money.

I am going to keep posting results and get into more of the nuts and bolt in future blogs. I admit I am a math geek. I use simulationcraft, extensive spreadsheets and site like WOL and others for my raiding so I will soon be more detailed on what I am doing here math wise. Until then I better go cause since I started todays post three people have tried to steal my gas thinking my van is abandoned.

Something to consider: why not increase your stockpiling to keep 10-15 of each gem in your inventory. If you are so limited on time, then you should be as efficient as possible. True, your restocking times will be longer. However, the time that you save from not running cancel scans or collecting mail makes up for it plus so much more. Set your post times to 12 hours, posting 5 gems at a time 3x a day. This way every morning when you check your mail you will collect your cash all at once, plus all your expired auctions (which should be all of them) and you have all the items you need for the day. Much more efficient than cancel/mail/post 3x a day.

Pretty good for minimal effort/time and few markets. Will definitely keep reading!

Hmmmmmmm really great ideas. The fact I travel a bit for work makes having a stockpile even more important, illustrated this week by only having really a few days to post. Profit margins per stack of ghost iron are so high on my server I can purchase even above market price and make consistent money so your advice only makes more and more sense as I think about it. Glad you are reading and commenting, next week when i have a full week to work I will post another result showing 7 and 30 day numbers along with my battle pet flipping results or lack there of..(I did sacrifice a gnome to the AH gods so I should be ok.)
