This blog is hopefully going to end up as a collaboration between some of the Mods/Admins here at the Consortium. We haven't really talked about what we'll write about, but I'll start off by sharing some of my thoughts about the Site and the Community in general.

I've been a member of the Consortium for about a year and a half now, and have been casually involved in the gold-making community for probably close to 2 years. I made an account at The Consortium probably after my second or third visit. It just made sense. The information was top notch, the community was active and helpful. The points and achievements system that we had at the time was pretty cool. I was hooked.

Over the past year and a half, this community has seen some really substantial growth. In an expansion era where other blogs have been closing down, other gold-making forums are either dwindling and/or can't even make it off the ground, the Consortium is breaking through and it's really no surprise.

It's not because of our sexy themes, our mind-blowing guides, or the fact that we are called home to some of the most intelligent goblins I've ever met. Sure, those don't hurt, but I really think the prevailing reason for this site's success is the sense of community here. There is very little trolling, people treat each other with respect, and most questions are usually answered promptly by at least one other member, if not many. Don't tell Sterling, but the Moderators around here actually don't have a lot on our plates. The maturity of this community is at a level that is truly rare among internet communities, I'd say.

So, I guess I just wanted to take this opportunity to tell you how proud I am to be a member of the Consortium. You're the best, and since I believe it only gets better from here, I'm really looking forward to what's in store.

Actually, I reserve my trolling for sites like MMO-Champion, Official Forums, and any site owned by Curse. Oh, and I get to read some funny applications from future WTs from time to time - the vast majority of which I usually hurl flaming arrows at.
