Thread: Fossilized Hatchling

I was wondering what you guys usually price this as. Apparently it's a pet you can only get once per toon and is made with archaeology at a random level. When pet trading first came out I sold a few for 15k, but now it seems tons of people are selling them and for very cheap (1k). If they are only 1 per toon, how is this happening? I'm confused as to the actual value of this little guy.

I've yet to sell any of those since I could never find them dirt cheap to buy, however if it helps any I have sold a decent amount of 2 of the other archaeology pets. I get on average 3.5k for the Gnome and 1.5k for the Voodoo figurine.

See, those prices seem very low for 1 time items per toon. Why sell them so cheaply? I don't understand how to price pets maybe.

Yes it's just one per toon, but on the flip side, most pet collectors only care about having one per account. A few might be interested in 3 per account. It seems likely to me, that the accounts that got more archaeology pets than they need outnumber the accounts that didn't get enough. So the demand would be low, and the supply - while limited - is still enough to meet the low demand.

I agree with you, but unfortunately it is what it is. I'e had both pets priced higher and they just didn't sell. I had to gradually keep lowering them until I found a price point that they sell at. Some of it to comes down to whether or not they are actually good at battling or not. I'm really not too familiar about that aspect of the game yet.

They're so easy to get that it's very unlikely people will pay much for one. At the beginning of Cata, with everyone scrambling for Arch epics, lots of people managed to craft a lot of rares. I had one on each of my 85's by the end of Cata. Since most people only care about one per account, the demand is going to be very low.


I do believe the price is low, but I don't see it shooting up anytime soon.


Also, Fossilized Hatchling is not one of the better rare pets, so again demand goes even lower.
