New to TSM and Goblineering in General

So, I've read through several threads and tutorials in order to get TSM setup. I currently am using Herbalism, Mining for farming mats. Enchanting, Jewelcrafting, and Alchemy for crafting. I think I have everything setup well, but here's my problem.

I'm only bringing in about 3 - 4k gold a day Gross. Between my toons, I'm bringing in roughly 10 Golden Lotus a day and using those for flasks. I know this is a very broad question, but as I understand it, I have the potential to be doing well over 10k a day. Any thoughts on what I could be doing wrong.

    Thanks in advance.

It depends on your server, firstly I would look at the Golden Lotus prices, would you be better selling them raw?

Are you Transmute or Elixir master?

Are you selling your living steel cooldown also are you doing it daily.

Is it profitable to do the enchant sha crystal daily and from which mats dust, essences or shards give the biggest return.

    - No there is approximately a 40 gold difference in the raw lotus and flask price on my server, which is Borean Tundra.

Are you Transmute or Elixir master?

    - I'm potions master actually.

    - I'm not using my living steel cooldown as the cost of trillium bars is pretty high compared to the cost of the living steel.

    - I save my Sha Crystals for the weapons enchants.

There is no way i could move 10 flasks a day on my server. If you are able to then stick to it, but if you start stockpiling GL dump them raw. Money in hand is better than a promise in the future imo.

If you are selling a lot of flasks it is worth it to respec to elixir. After 6 (or 8, i forget) procs the respec paid for itself. However i would advise you to spec to transmute because of below....

You are looking at it wrong. Don't compare trillium and LS, compare Ore and LS. 1 LS = 6 Trillium = 60 bars = 120 Ore. Currently i buy Ore ~40g a stack (varies from 30-50), smelt it to bars, transmute to trillium, transmute to LS, craft into a buckle. So for 240g worth of ore i get a 650g belt buckle. I actually take it a step further and sell trillium bars (for about 20g/bar profit) as well, making sure i always have 24 in the AH at all times (4 stacks of 6). And since i have an xmute master procs are just the icing on the cake.

@Duf , I do not think you are doing anything wrong, nothing is wrong with 3-4k a day in sales. I am assuming your mat costs are low and that's mostly profit. Maybe level a Skinner/Leatherworker.
    Maybe an inscriptionist?

But the number one way I make gold...is cross faction...Look at the price differences between horde and alliance...you will be amazed daily at the differences.
Just moving raw materials and crafted goods is my number one way that I now have 7 million gold on the tinest server..azshara.

I would suggest watching trade for people WTB living steel transmute, as you use their mats and get a fee I have seen between 50g and 250g, for say 20 seconds work it is "free gold" i use the term free loosely due to the 20 seconds of time used.

Hoodis and Jimmy have covered every thing else off and should give you a good places to think about and expand focus.

@Hoodis , About how many belt buckles do you sell a day? I don't have a blacksmith, but I currently have a spare miner that im not using.

@jimmyolsenblues , I'll look into cross faction. Do you use Auctioneer's Arbitrage function?

Thanks for all the help guys.

@Duf I used auctioneer for years, I like it, but its slow and a big client...its good for some things but is terrible for others.
Once I bought a six of chaos and I had no idea what it did, I bought it just cause auctioneer told me to..so I stopped that.
I have removed auctioneer, I hate the default ah for posting. I am not yet comfortable with the quick post on TSM, the font is too small and the options are not clear to me.

I just mainly check herb and ore price differences, then you can branch out to other trade good materials. Find the bot , exploit the difference and craft and post.

Dont be afraid of TSM. The main thing you need to do is get your groups set right and it will do the rest for you. The first time i used it to put up 10k worth of auctions i was wary as well but that quickly passed. My best advice is to start small and remember it is just a game. Dont start off using it to post JC mounts, even if you make mistakes and it costs you money you can easily get the mats back. Once you get the hang of it the money will be rolling in. For example i reset my auctions right before bed last night (the majority were undercut) and woke up to 5k in my mailbox this morning. With TSM it literally took less than 5 minutes to do that.

I have been stockpiling LS lately but i have 2 alchs and i used to sell both of their transmutes (as buckles) daily easily. I dont buy LS or cooldowns. I dont have much play time so i cant sit in town and bark for cooldowns and I have been telling myself i should buy LS and craft (~100g profit) for days but i never do.

As the people here have already mentioned, the answer to your questions are very server specific as the economies shift radically from server to server.

So giving specific market advice is actually quite difficult for anyone outside of that market.

That said, you can offer advice that's more theoretical, which in turn you can use to investigate further potential options that might not have occurred to you.

TSM is quite a beastly mod. It's very unintuitive for the average layman and this is actually one of the biggest reasons why people don't actually use it.

But don't be afraid of learning! It's easily the #1 tool the vast majority of wealthy goblins use for everything concerning money generation & is very flexible for whatever market you can think to use it for.

I mostly use it in my trade (blacksmithing), but also use it for JC, Transmog and even just general 'junk' posting for my bank alt.

It's ability to mass post & mass undercut shouldn't be dismissed as it's a very powerful, time saving tool once you get to grips with it.

Check out YouTube for TSM setup advice and just get cracking with it & in a week or two you'll wonder how you every survived without it!
