    Shuffle Slowing Down?

I made a post in another topic regarding both my sales and prices I could charge for gems going way down, some 35-45g less then a couple weeks ago. So far, the ore is keeping up with it. I just bought 90 stacks of elementium for 98g each where as last week the best I could get was 115g.

My theory backed up by seeing a bunch of new names posting at really low prices is that I have a new pool of competitors coming into the market. Here is the dilemma though, I try and by out all the stacks I can to hopefully drive them away due to lack of supply, but part of me thinks the ore farmers may be wising up and actually doing the shuffle themselves. The supply just never seems to be there yet more and more gems are getting posted. If it wasn't such a radical shift in less then a week I might not be so paranoid, but you know, me likes me gold.

It seems like they are botting the ore, then selling to legit accounts to do the shuffle. Way more profits this way. What do you think?

As I said in another thread, the bots are back , less people are raiding I think, the Brilliant infernos used to sell all day 240g each now its down to 190g.
Its still profitable, but I don't think have the same demand on my server.
I wonder how many lost subscribers or people are not playing.
when 4.3 first dropped I could not keep infernos in stock.
I guess we are at the end of the expansion and its just dead.
Someone said last night, they are just tired of wiping on deathwing.

Ah see... this kind of goes in line with my last post I had on whether ore shuffling at this point might be too late with being near end game now and most people probably have all the gems they may need for their mains and alts after running DS either with a guild or pugging through the RF several times over. I am sure there are still plenty to gem and gear out there, but my server is also hurt by the sparse availability of ore to boot.

I agree with both of you guys and am seeing the same thing. I told myself last week I wasn't going to do anymore big ore buys because I am afraid of getting burned. Hopefully I can get through this one and if so, move on to more cautious ways. Would be so nice if they released another tier or raiding...lol

Just logged in to check on things and now a new turn of events. The ore prices have come way down, Auctioneer is showing them at the 70% range from normal. So, now I am really confused. There is so much ore flooding the server right now that I will have trouble selling the gems at a profit and will be lucky to get back the investment. I am going to take a look at things on Tuesday and see how they are. This may just be a market adjustment and with the cheaper ore, profit is still available. I just hope that I can get my investment back from this last 10000g ore buy I made 2 days ago.

You will make it back, dont worry. Patience is what is needed in the shuffle business. How far are you going with it? Use every avenue available to use the shuffle for profit. I'm still buying out cheap ore..the bots are BACK, and Ive bought hundreds of stacks of ore in the last few days at 70% the cost of normal. Yes, gem demand is down..but it will always be there. PLUS with the incoming future nerfs to DS, more guilds will be downing bosses and getting gear...and gems will be needed. Plus you can always sell the leftovers next xpac, I still sell plenty of old gems.

the Inferno cuts are around the 150-170g range now, and elementium ore around 60g a stack. but i regularly see pages of elementium for 45g-50g gold per stack and i buy them all out, even if its costs me 5k per session. right now i have over 300 pages of elementium waiting for me to pick up in my mailbox.

my sales have been around 5k per day, just selling the infernos and various blue/green/orange/purple cuts, and ive been doing that part-time since my main is my enchanter and thats the prof i spend the most time on and make bokus of gold on. but my expenses on my JC alt are around 10k the past week. so the past week and a half ive fallen about 30k gold short of where i was last week. but then i did a couple of different things outside my norm.

1st i usually send all my rings and necklaces to my enchanter to de and he keeps the mats for even more profits! but thats not all to profitable for my JC'er. so ive made a new sub-group in TSM to sell all the rings and necklaces. Except the blues i still mail those to my enchanter for the heavenly shards, but i c.o.d. the rares to him for 45g each lol.

2nd amberjewels and volatile water are dirt cheap at them moment, so much that you can make the vicious amberjewel band for like 60-65g each, and heavenly shards are around 95g-110g on my server. again, i avoid co-mingling my golds between my chanter and jc'er by buying the mats on my chanter and mailing them to my jc to make and mail back, so my jc incurs no costs. and i buy the mats on my jc and mail the rings to my chanter to de and mail it back to incure no cost to my enchaner, lol, hope that makes since. i never sell any enchanting mats on my chanter cuz im drowning in celestials and heavenlys. so i sell the shards on my jc so he profits from his work.

3rd. i dont de every amberjewel band...i put 5 of the rings on the AH at a time for 350g buyout, and lo and behold- there are a great seller!

so i expanded a little and im doing a few things i have never done before, selling the rings and necks pieces, de and selling amberjewels, oh and i now advertise bark in trade chat now, i just say selling any inferno cut lower then AH prices for a limited time pst...and i get alot of hits.

so the past 3 days, im still buying out the cheapest ores (45-55g stack so the market doesnt get used to the low prices and competitors drive prices down even more).
my sales have literally exploded to about 30k per day, and still buying 10k in ores a day. so since saturday ive had about a 60k profit, so ive gotten myself out of my 30k deficit, put another 30k gold in my coffers, and went from 6k gold in hard assests on the AH to about 40k gold worth of gems, rings, necklaces and enchanting mats. my enchanter is also benefiting alot, even tho my sales are the same my expenses when down about 40%! so more profit, more money to undercut competitors so they get discouraged and leave.

so im not sure if you do all that or not, but just trying new ideas within the JC profession might revitalize your sales like it has done for me. especially if you have an enchanter so they can both feed off each other, synergy ya know?

    A point to consider...

Historically, the changeover from BC to Wrath resulted in an overnight collapse of the gem market. We're talking 100g gems converting to vendor trash. Six months before Wrath released, old time JCs were warning everyone to dump their Wrath stock. For some reason, I felt that there was hope, so while everyone was selling, I was buying. My gamble paid off because Blizz did what I predicted they ~might do~...they added level requirements to Cata gems. By doing so, Cata gems could only be used on gear made for levels 81-85 and Wrath gems maintained value as they were the best ones a player could use on equipment between levels 60-80.

But the very thing that saved the value of Wrath gems could consign Cata gems to near-oblivion once MoP comes out, unless Blizz goes to the trouble of removing or altering the Cata gem level requirements. Once the level cap is raised to 90, I suspect that most people will treat 81-85 the way they treat 61-80 now....they'll power-level through it as fast as they can, not bothering to waste money on enchants or top-level gems. If nothing is done to address this, Wrath gems will remain the gem of choice for level-climbers.

I hear some of you in the back row saying "Well sure they'll change the level req's for Cata gems when MoP comes out....It only makes sense." To which I say, I don't think Blizz has been all that concerned with keeping the professions orderly and profitable as of late. As proof of this, I point to Cata epic gems, still only obtainable in high end raids. With no major patch scheduled prior to MoP, Epic Cata gems are currently on the path to becoming extinct once MoP drops, as no one will be farming DS for them.

Maybe this means that in Cata's waning days, Blizz might introduce additional ways to obtain Cata epics. (Transmuting and prospecting Pyrite comes to mind.) It always seems that professions are the last thing Blizz works on as they ramp up for an expansion or patch. I sit here and I wonder just how much effort they'll throw into addressing this while trying to rush MoP to market and all I can conclude at this point in time is that I have my doubts that it'll get done.

Somewhat disagree. From experience, wrath gems (cardinals, right?) have still been rather expensive. I can sell about 2-3 a day as a casual player, and this is on a very populated server. Well, 700 extra gold a day is nothing to complain about.

I would say watch where the twinks go to. Most of my sales are made from the 70-74 bracket, which is by far the most popular twink bracket. Keeping an eye on the official WoW BG forums will give you info on the bracket that will be most popular come MoP. I would say buy rubies if they're being dumped during the waning days of 4.3. Don't keep a huge stockpile though - expect to sell only a couple a day.
