    Learning to shuffle...

    Hi guys,

I found this forum couple days ago, and fell in love with the idea of the shuffle instantly.
So I decided to give it a shot.

What I have done so far is I bought Elementium ores at roughly 72 - 76 / stack. Prospected everything, transmuted all the carnelians, and made the other "uncommon" gems into jewellery and Disenchanted.

For the rare gems, I saved most of them, because currently I only have 1 gem recipe. I did sell some infernos and enchants.

My question is, should I keep stocking up all gems, and be patient with dailies? Or should I dump the rare gems that I don't want. Also, am I doing
it right by disenchanting all the jewellery? Final question is, if I look for a long term ore farmer, what would be a reasonable price? Market price seems to flow from 70g - 80g.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post guys,

    regards..

ps: available profession: BS, alchem, herb, mine, JC, enchant

I would keep at least a stack of each rare gem until you have the profitable recipies to cut for your server.

Keep a stack of zephrites for the dailies, cut and vendor the rest. Cut and vendor all your ocean sapphires.

Take a look at TUJ to find out what gems are selling and look at getting those recipies. Another site to look at is www.wowpopular.com you can check out what each gem is HOT for a particular class.

The "blue" crafted rings, necks etc you can try selling on the AH. Otherwise DE'ing them all is fine.

If you have found a constant supplier for your ore (lucky you) work out a price that you are both comfortable to pay. One that he will sell for so that none of his ore ends up on the AH and a price that you can pay and still get a profit from any thing you use the ore for.

I would also look at the prices of [Pyrite Ore]. Use some of the [Elementium Ore] to craft Bars. Craft the Pyrite Ore into bars and also prospect some so you get Volatile Earth. Craft [Ebonsteel Belt Buckle] and sell for extra profit.

Keep a stack of zephyrites/jaspers/nightstones for the daily, keep most of your infernos so that you can cut them and sell for a higher price and try to unload most of the other rares when cut price is close to the raw price. Sell scrolls if you can, they're a huge boost to the shuffle.
If you're looking for a farmer, agree on a price that is approximately 5-10% below market price (5% for ah cut, 5% discount) but always start with lower (about 20% below market value) and get the price to your threshold. Agree on buying everything cod and do so as long as you can. A good relationship with a farmer is based on the fact that you're always there to buy his goods or he'll find another buyer on the ah in no time.
Make sure to check for cheap volatiles and amberjewels and turn them into jc rings for enchanting, sometimes it's cheaper than stormforged shoulders.

Really really appreciate the replies guys. Just another question about TSM. When setting thresholds and fall-back prices, I followed the "setting up enchanting like a boss" guide. But, the prices always seems off. Should I just try fixed gold amount instead of the moving averages and stuff? Thanks in advance.

This really depends. I for myself also use fixed prices for my scrolls, because most of my mats are either self produced (shuffled) or I always get them for the same fixed price from my farmers. So I have set my lowest price about 10-20% above my production cost and the fall-back price I adjust more often, according to current market value.

This setup can create quite some effort if you have each single scroll maintained as its own group in TSM. I for myself found that it is easier to add particular scrolls (mainly with close crafting costs) to bundles and so I have less points to modify in case some prices changes.

I would not dump your rare gems, continue to learn recipes, every cut recipe you get , the more profitable you become, unless you can sell the [Chimera's Eye] for so much every day that your cuts won't ever catch up. I.e. If [Quick Amberjewel]
is selling for 20g each and each [Chimera's Eye] is 300g, it would take a long time to profit over that recipe, because the [Design: Quick Amberjewel] costs three [Chimera's Eye]

Stockpile infernos. Use Amberjewels and Ocean Sapphires to make Vicious rings to DE into shards (check to see if it's profitable first). Save a couple stacks of Zepyrite, Nightstone, and Jasper for the dailies, as others have said.

    Keep workin at it

Fixed gold values can work really well if it's organized. It takes a lot more manual work than using %’s though. When I first learned scrolls, I used to manually look up each enchant through my profession book whenever I needed to update prices. Lol, I ended up wasting a lot of time and it took forever!
Using a spreadsheet of your enchants will save a tremendous amount of time in the long run. That way, you only need to put in the value for the raw mats and everything’s calculated. When I use fixed gold values for scrolls this is how I set it up:

This is the spreadsheet I use:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...DJaam5aM0g5Vnc
Raw mats are the only values I change. These are the cata scrolls that I list so it may not be a perfect fit for others.

I drag TSM partially into the left side of WoW so it lines up with excel. I position it this way because it’s really easy to between the two and not lose track.

There are a lot of values to put in so be careful and don't forget any digits

Thanks for all your responses, especially Luminatyra's spread sheet. Should I get more red recipes before moving onto orange/purple? I only have delicate and brilliant
right now. I have an orange cut, but it moves very slowly..

I recently switched professions and relearned Jewelcrafting on my tank. The three red recipes (brilliant, bold and delicate) were top priority for me because the make up about 75% of my # of sales and like 90% of my profit with regards to gems. I had the advantage of my old sales data, so I could check TSM Accounting to see which gems sold the most.
