    Holy Cumbersome Timewaste Batman!

But seriously, I do that when I have extreme amounts of raw materials lying in wait and yet I despise doing that. It's not like my current guild bank storage on various alts (I have about 18 tabs worth of guild bank storage atm) isn't enough to keep me stocked for 2-3 months in all the markets I work in. All the backlog in the mailboxes interferes with the regular AH mail I receive on my posting alts. Do Not Want!

I can move 2k MFCs a day on the weekend on my server at 5.95g. If the market is open, step into it. That's 400 stacks sold at a profit right there, in a single day.

But you've a huge backlog - you might give up on the notion of control for awhile, and just work through that.

I guarantee you that you spend more time looting and depositing goods while wasting that storage than I spend bouncing mail back and forth at 30c per mail and using my 6 guild banks to store things that are actually worth storing.

I personally adjust my thresholds for raw materials quite often because there's a practical limit to how much supply you can process. Ore on my server has always bottomed out around 40g/stack and this week it's gone down to 30g.

Inferno Ink - Item - World of Warcraft

If you can't funnel it through DMF your options are limited to slow moving relics, herb bags, or runescrolls, and if you aren't able to funnel it through DMF I doubt other people are on your server so you won't be able to trade it away to a player, which means you are SOL if you are selling through DMF/mfc faster than you are producing burning embers.

This is my strategy as well. While I've sometimes kicked myself for not stocking up while prices are low, the market price for goods is usually dependent on the price of mats on the AH. So even if the price goes up you'll still be on an even playing field. I think you're going to have a hard time processing that stuff and actually moving it too, so give that some consideration. I generally have a couple thousand herbs in reserve and even that takes ages to process.

Don't forget MFCs go into cookies as well.

Looking back at this post, and taking into account that the current "big thing" is stocking up for 4.3, I'd take back what I said. I no longer lower my thresholds for any raw material, only raise it. I've finally come around to accepting that the mailbox is a legitimate means of storage and I have bajillions of mats stored that way. It also keeps prices high so that when you do get around to processing more of it, you can sell for a big profit.

Yep, if you let material prices drop below what you were buying at between patches it can really screw your profits up. Also, in general you should try and act on hording before it's obvious to do so.
