    Rare Jewelry Procs

I'm currently selling these at a fairly steady pace, but was wondering what the possible vendor change might do to their price in the future.

The people that prospect just to vendor don't effect the supply of these. The supply is effectively determined by people that prospect for the purpose of making enchanting materials. How do you think that supply chain will be effected? Will more, less or the same amount of prospecting occur to get enchanting mats. People are predicting a crash in enchanting material prices. And I know that regardless, the cost of both ore and green gems is likely to take a dive, so one could conclude that the cost of making these items will decrease significantly in the future. But, without the allure of selling DE materials, is it also safe to predict a corresponding reduction in their creation?

I don't see any change in demand for these. Does anyone else? If supply dwindles, material costs drop, and demand remains the same, I think that the profit margin will increase for these items.

I don't think it's safe to predict anything at the moment. In my opinion we don't really know enough about what changes might really be coming and how this might have a knock-on effect to other markets.

Everyone thought people would be dumping stocks when the datamine/ptr information came out which would drop prices. On my server, prices for everything have actually gone up. Elementium used to be 40g a stack. It's now up at 60g. Who knows.

I think the value of this jewellery will depend on what happens to the ore, which to me could go either way at the moment. If the ore does indeed crash then I would expect the jewellery to aswell.

The rare rings are only being bought to buy ilvls for new 85s to get into heroics, thats the market. If that falls you can check on the shard market and since everytroll and his dog will be in the new 4.1 shards could rise in price.

Either way, current market is fresh 85s, charge what you want that is above vendor price.

I think in this case its prudent to prepare for a potential decrease in the vendor value of uncommon gems. Besides, this is the speculation area of the forum.

For my question, I am assuming for a moment that the vendor change is gospel and speculating on a ripple of that change. Thinking several moves ahead is how you winning many different games... including gold making

That said, the reason this is important for me now, because it will determine how hard I push my rare jewelry procs until the patch hits. I might fire sale them, or I might sit on them and wait for the supply to dry up in the months ahead. I am interested in whether the community forsees a change in the number of people prospecting for enchanting materials. Assuming a similiar demand, I will have enough information to make my decision.

I can garuntee you the people who shuffle ore now are the only competition you'll have on the rings after 4.1, and JC levellers(Not enough to make a dent in a shuffler). So establish yourself now and suss out the competition, there is no need to change fallback prices on anyones behalf unless shard prices go absolutely crazy.

Our servers might be quite different, but currently my threshholds are way above vendor values. On average I'm getting anywhere from 75 to 500g for different pieces.

The rare proc jewelry sells well to people that are leveling from 79 to 85 as well as people that might need additional ilvls.

Yea the prices can be so high because people want to run heroics asap and will drop that much on it just to run a heroic instead of farming normals for that one piece that they dont have worry about dropping or getting ninjad, for 300g instead of a boe epic for 5k+. That is the only determining factor at the moment and will be in 4.1 unless DEing the rare procs becomes more profitable with shard prices or they remove the minimum ilvl. The rings and neck procs will probably be one of the most stable markets in cataclysm since there is minimum ilvls to even get into heroics and the only people producing them are ore shufflers who see them as pure profit or JC levellers who get the procs and decide to AH on a whim. Making rings to proc blue ones at the moment is akin to DMC on a way less profitable scale.

Forget about the jewelry for a moment. My question boils down to this: will there be less, more or a similiar amount of ore shuffled into dust and essences after a decrease in vendor value?

Thanks for the link. I've read it several times... and just re-read it again. Were you suggesting that I pose my question there? I did, but I'm not a fan of big ungainly threads that cover a hundred smaller topics. If you were suggesting that I find an answer there, all I can say is I tried... and didn't... and started this thread.
