    Patch stockpilling

    Hi all,

Im pretty new here, so excuse for possibly double posting. As we all can agree patch time means huge potential profits if the correct items are stockpilled.
Seeing as this is stockpilling I decided to post this in speculations.

So what I really wanted was to hear what the rest of you are stockpilling for the 4.1 patch and by what reason.

Im playing on Eu-Bloodhoof (horde side) which is sadly a fairly low populated server which means prices are quite high for most items.
I would like to put in that I have access to a JC, Alc, Enchanter and 450 scripe

Well here is my current list of stockpill worthy items:

Rare gems, all 6 of them: I expect the shiny new purples of ZG/ZA will be given to all of the masses. These items seem to be rich on sockets meaning a boom in demand. (Im currently in competation with only 3 hardcore JC)
I am currently aiming for 10-15 stacks inferno, 5 stacks purple, 5 stacks orange

Shadowspirit diamonds: the same as above, lots of new gear coming with this patch - I will also pick up cheap burning, reverbareting and agile recipies as the flipping potential seems rather good on these

Common gems: Like most of you Im shuffling - sadly ore prices are rather high (obsidium ore 55-60g/stack, elementium ore 55-60g/stack, pyrite ore 160-200g/stack
I have decided to DE all yellow, orange and green via JC/enchater
Blue: keep 1-2 stacks for daily
Purple: keep 1-2 stacks for daily
Red: x-muting all to inferno rubies

Enchanting mats: stockpilling all right now, as I believe a huge jump in prices will occure after 2-3 days of patch 4.1 (sadly my enchanter isnt still lacking 4 levels before he can start learning new enchants)

    Herbs: heartblossom for inferno x-mutes

Let me hear what you have lined up for patch 4.1?

This will be the first time I have stockpiled pretty much ever, and so I didn't want to tie up too much of my gold in one area. (I'm newish, only 60k gold)

I have a few stacks of inferno rubies I bought cheap, pyrite ore, and some pets I am gonna save hoping that when the achiev hits, people will buy them. I have two of the Epic parrots I bought for 5k, hoping they will go for a lot more.

If you consider your rare gems free due to cut and vendor or other subsidies then there's no risk involved in stock piling these, however with shadowspirit diamonds the current floor price on these is 64.8g with xmute spec alchemist, making this stockpile somewhat risky since the floor price will be changed from 64.8g to 3.6g (assuming the 75s price on cut gems goes live as is).

Will there be *that many* new helms on your faction/realm? That being said, your extra stock will gain some value with 4.2.

I am not stockpiling. I though in the last patch when Blizzard added the sockets to craftable items the demand will go up a lot, but it didn't, it took me about a month to get rid of stock without buying any raw gems. I don't think this update will make a big dent, I think the change of number of prospectors will affect it much more. And how it pans out is anyone's guess.

There are a couple of possibilities:

    1. People keep prospecting at about the same rate - the uncommon raw gems go into DE and transmutes -> enchanting mats prices go down. Blue gem prices go down.
    2. Less prospecting -> less blue procs, but it is substituted by more transmutes, some of the transmutes might become economical. The enchant mats will in this case stay about the same or go down a little.

It also depends on what is the price at which people will continue to do mining and not switch to other profession. I expect a lot of people switching into herbing and may be skinning.

As a conclusion - it is pretty hard to tell where the prices will go and it is hard to tell what the general availability of the gems will be, too many unknowns.

I am stocking up as many gems as I can right now via mass prospecting of cheap ore. Up to 10+ stacks of every color and will keep stockpiling while the gems are nice and "free". Nearly every other cata mat is being liquidated(to lower levels - Still keeping a basic stock for the first month or so) with the exception of most volatiles and cloth/leather.

In general I have seen a huge demand for wrath epic gems - it seems lvl 70 twink has become some what popular! Wonder if it could be profitable to start prospecting titanium ore again!
    Cardinal Rubies going for 150+g!

Right now i've decided to gamble.
so.. I have a gbank tab and a half of carn stacks. i have another half tab in nightstones. I have 6 rows (i believe 7 slots per row) of jaspers. I have maybe 2-3 stacks of each other uncommon. I have a gbank tab of pyrite ore (all bought at 60g per !!!!)
for rares i have about 30 stacks of infernos, 15 stacks of every other color.
I've begun to stock up on abyss crystals (10g per max buyout) have 10 stacks of them.
    frozen orbs 4 stacks worth.
    heartblossom gbank tab full.

i'm going to aim for 5 stacks for SSD to add.
I also am playing with the idea of stocking other old world materials (saronite, titanium, frost lotus old epics, etc)
