change to 2 enchants in 4.1... sales spike possible

Two enchants are being changed in 4.1..

1.) - this enchant is already fairly popular as is for healers. It currently procs when "casting" spells. In 4.1, this is being changed to proc when healing or dealing damage with spells. This would appear to mean that HoT spells will cause this to proc, as well as DoT spells. If this holds true, the proc chance of this enchant just jumped drastically for most healer and caster dps classes.

This change could cause the enchant to see a jump in demand.

2.) - this enchant is being changed from a +40 Block Rating enchant to a +50 Mastery Rating enchant. For a tank, mastery is pretty powerful and a huge survivability/damage mitigation stat. I could see this enchant getting a big spike in demand.

I just bought all 10 of the scrolls for this enchant on my AH... for 1g or less each. Worse case, the demand doesn't increase and I'm out 10g... oh darn! But most likely, this enchant will increase in value. I plan to keep watching the AH for more of these scrolls, up until 4.1 releases. It takes 12 , which is worth way more than 1g. H. Dust is still going for 4-5g a piece on my server, which equates to this enchant being worth, at face value, 48-60g. Popular enchants typically carry a premium, meaning this enchant scroll could jump to over 60g each. That is best case scenario, but I believe a definitely possible scenario.

I too picked up a bunch of the Blocking enchant. While it is used for leveling I think the extra demand from holy paladins and shammys along with the fact that it becomes even better for tanks makes it a fairly safe bet.

Hmm they are about 20g here so I probably won't build up a big stockpile on those.

Several were listed this morning on my server for 29-35g each. I expected to see the jump after I bought out the entire AH stock at 1g or less each

I'll just wait to see if those scrolls drop in price again. If they go sub-10g each, I will probably buy them all up again.

Heartsong already procs off hots and proccing spi is terrible for dps, if you want spi as dps you want it for hit and you want it always, not randomly. As far as I can tell without testing for myself and just going by comments on wowhead, this change is just a more accurate tooltip as Heartsong isn't proccing for example off PW:S. The value of Heartsong in the future is going to depend a lot on how Blizzard deal with gear inflation affecting mana pools, the cynic in me thinks even as soon as Firelands could see mana becoming a non-issue for everyone except maybe disc priests (who may well prefer Power Torrent anyway).

To be honest im not willing to bet on it, but im pretty sure that the +spirit proc from allready procs on "passive" HOT healing like [spell]88685[/spell]

Passive proc or not i don't se a demand based on a (given) change, as it's the BiS enchant for most healers untill they have the mana regen to take the power Torrent +int proc-enchant

There was a MMO-C post with a Blue comment regarding the fact that there are a lot of tooltip changes but the abilities aren't changing. It gave a bunch of DK spells/abilities as examples, though, so I'm unsure if Heartsong is actually changing or not.

I'm going to look into the shield enchant, though. Re: Shaman, Mastery isn't super amazing for Enh or Ele. For Ele specifically, you want the throughput from the +Int enchant instead.

Actually, I expect Heartsong demand to drop considerablely after 4.1. My belief is that the only reason to use heartsong is you can not justify/afford the gold for Power Torrent due to the MC price. With MC prices expected to drop a lot when they are sold for jp, hk (esp from BG Bots), and d/e 353 epics folks will just put the power torrent on their weapon. In the same way every site I read recommends the int food and int flask for healers, the int weapon enchant will be used once it is more affordable.
