    PTR/Cataclysm questions

I have some questions that I hoped people could offer some opinions. I was trying to figure out a good way to make a chunk of money from Inscription when the glyph changes arrive in 4.0.1. I'm curious about what the best way to do that will be.

I'm not sure what the status of the Ink Trader is on the PTR. I am assuming the Ink Trader will be there until Cataclysm. Has anyone been on the PTR to see to what extent glyphs and inscriptions are changing? Is it just going to be the change to make glyphs something you just learn once? Or will some glyphs be changing/removed/etc? I want to get things ready to go so I can sell, sell, sell on patch day. Better to have all the inks ready to go or can I go ahead and craft all the glyphs to be ready to post on patch day?

    Professions

    * The glyph system has been updated to now feature three different types of glyphs. Many class glyphs have been added, altered, or moved to different glyph types.
I have copied my character over and I am downloading the client as I type this in order to find out more info on Inscription for myself. I will post whatever I can. but I amhoping there will be a post on MMO that is datamined to better show changes/new glyphs. It is my belief that the new UI will be impleneted given this patch note. So, there will be a ton of glyph sales off of the bat. Even terrible glyphs that people will just want to have "all" of their class glyphs.

I suspect a lot of people may miss the boat on this because they may be expecting most of the changes with Cataclysm. And, I will be making one of each glyph for my toons, so I can have them all, so I'm sure others will do this too.

I'm going into patch 4.0 with 20 of each glyph and plan on keeping my stock at that level for at least the first couple of months. Tbh I cba sorting through what's changing so using my existing ktq macro for it

I wonder how many people will actually be filling out their entire glyphbook with all the glyphs for there class. Most glyphs that are hardly used or suck will still suck and be hardly used so there really isn't a need to buy a complete set. Just the ones you may use.

So I could see swapping out your glyph of frost ward for glyph of fire ward etc on a case by case basis, but it seems that in order to swap glyphs you have to buy a scribe crafted item just to perform the swap. Think about it. So you wont have to repurchase glyphs every time you want to swap something out or try a different combo of glyphs, but in order to change them around you have to buy another craftable item just to do it. And its a consumable itself? Glyphs that are craptastic will stay craptastic and unused.

Only way I see people buying full sets is if they create an achievement for completing your Class GlyphBook.

I think you are in a different mentality. Some people cannot stand to see the gaps there. Not everyone feels the need to fill every gap, but let me ask you this. Did you train all your skills? Do you use them all? Do you ever fail to buy a trainer pattern?

The other thing to remember is that glyphs change all the time. Glyphs that were useless get changed and become useful, or at least situational. So, you may not sell as many of the crappy glyphs, but I am sure they will sell.

Unfortunately, at least for me and everyone I know and have talked to, professions are extremely bugged. Every premade character comes with 450 JC/Enchanting but after you log out (after first logging on with them) and log back in, they no longer work (you can see in the Professions tab that you have both, you just can't look at them).

Same thing happened when I transferred my rogue (who has 450 inscription) over; I heard your inscription will only work if you place it on your action bar prior to copying and I did just that.. but again, after the first log out it doesn't work

One thing to be aware of is the proposed change to Ink of the Sea coming with Cata, when the new herbs/high end inks go live you will no longer be able to trade IotS for lower level inks, so if you have stockpiled a ton of IotS and/or LK herbs (like I have) it may be worth getting a stock of lower level inks from the trader.

I disagree. Most players will look to fill their glyph spellbook. You see this happen in every aspect of the game: pet collectors, mount collectors, achievements etc. There is absolutely no benefit at all to "completing" a profession, yet players shell out thousands of gold to purchase worthless recipes. If blizzard adds an achievement for completing the glyphbook, there will be an insane gold rush at the start of Cataclysm.

One big question: we know the glyph spellbook is coming with 4.0. Are glyph crafting reagents still 1 ink per glyph on the PTR? Need to know this asap.
