    Feast of Winter Veil

I have started building up a pretty large stock for Winter Weil

Right now I have materials for making 200 x Winter Colth

    &

And the materiales for making 100

Besides that I have bought up around 200 and 200 . (I would like 500 salts), and only eggs if they are very cheap.

I haven’t participated the Seasonal goldrushes before, so I need some advise on the amount I need to have in stock.

I plan on buying up the entire AH and and reposting eggs at 10G and salt at 35G just before the holiday begins.

Any one off you has an idea of the stock size? The Holyday begins just 8 days after Cata so we will properly se a lolt of people camping the big citys = lower demand.

Small eggs are very easy to farm, so the prices on these I expect to drop pretty fast, tahts is why I don’t want to stock to much up on that (I don’t wanna farm anything before the Holiday, I only get what I need off the AH).

    Any experience?

My production cost for will be 4G & 4,5G. I don't have an ally tailor so I need to make some kind of deal with an Ally tailor - but that will not be a problem.

    Just some helpful information:

    Materials for 100 (Horde Version)

    400 (= 1.600 )
    100 (= 300 )
    200 (Vendor)
    100 (Vendor)

    For the 100 (Ally Version)

    400 (= 1.600 )
    100 (= 300 )
    200 (Vendor)
    100 (Vendor)

    For 100

    100
    100 (= 300 )
    400
    100 (Vendor)

As of right now I'm sitting on about 700 s in my bank. I'll by them off the AH if they are less than 40-50s each. Also I'll go to Darkshore and farm the eggs while I'm waiting for heroics. I plan to have at least 1000 eggs before Winter Veil.

I have not farmed wool yet, which is on the agenda. I hadn't done the math to figure out how much i'd actually need, but your post pretty much did that. I'll probably do 100 of each color too.

I'll probably sell most of the eggs in stacks of 4 since that is what is needed I believe for the food. Also put up some single stacks. I'm hoping for 10g+ an egg. Also make sure you put your stuff on the AH the night before the event. That way they will be there waiting for people when the event starts.

I'm already posted , and over the last 2 weeks and have already sold about 10 of each. Since each item takes up a slot, I plan on keeping them as raw materials and craft them as they fly off the shelf. Its 6 weeks to Winter Veil so get your stock ready!

BTW, Pilgrim's Bounty is starting on November 21 and meta achievement requires cooking 280. Expect some folks to power level their cooking!

Thanks for the post Meyer. Even though Winter Veil is so far away, people should add Runecloth and Woolcloth to their snatch list to snatch up all the cheaply priced ones that usually pop up over time.

I echo what Sinshroud has said - this is a very helpful post. This is not an event that i've profited from in the past but I think I'll have a good go at it this time.

Thanks a lot for making the effort mate.

One of the Wind Traders made a post like this a little over a month ago I think. I plan on farming up 3000+ eggs for Winter's Veil and posting them in lots of 5 for 25-30g (then posting 100 or so lots of 1 for 1/5th of whatever I post the lots of 5 for). If any of my eggs don't sell, I'll just hold on to them for Children's Week ([achievement]Bad Example[/achievement] requires a . I should start farming up mats for the suits though since I have a tailor that can make both suits.

As for farming Small Eggs, it's stupidly easy if you're Horde. Just go outside of Silvermoon and kill the Feral Dragonhawks. I was pulling in about 150-200 eggs/hour. It is mind-numbingly boring though.

My first Winter's Veil as an actioneer, need some help.

This is my second Winters Veil over all, but only my first as an actioneer. That being said, I could use a little help.

I know that I need to stock up on Runecloth, Wool cloth, Deeprock Salt, and Small Eggs. My problem is, I'm not quite sure what to do with any of it.

Do I sell the cloth as cloth, or make bolts, or suits? So I section it into three's and make a third of it bolts, a third suits, and keep a third cloth?

How do I sell the Deeprock salt? Do I post it one at a time, or in stacks of (Insert number here)?

The same goes for the eggs. Do I sell them one at a time, or make stacks of 4-5 eggs at a clip?

Also, whats a good price for each item? (Be it stacks, or individual) Since I'll be getting my stuff on there the night before, I doubt there will be many other things on there to go by for prices. I'm hoping that I can set the AH price for all the items. At least at first.

Edit: I also only have a Tailor, and don't know any LW's. So do I need to stock up on leather and Copper as well?
Any help would be very appreciated.

I haven't done this in the past, but I think the best way to go will be:
    1) Make suits exclusively
    2) Sell salt in stacks of one, list them the night before the holiday starts.
    3) Sell eggs in stacks of 5 (and perhaps a few as solos), list them the night before the holiday starts also.

Leather and copper are only going to be useful if you can (or get someone to) make the shoes.

Thats a huge help, thank you. Should I save any bolts of wool? Someone on another gold forum said that last year they were selling one bolt of wool cloth for 7G each. Thats 42G per stack of Wool. And I can farm, or buy it for about 23G a stack. So thats a profit of 19G per stack. If I can get a metric ton of it, could it be worth while to save Bolts of Wool?

This will be my second year profiting from Winter Veil. Deeprock Salt and Small Eggs have been in my snatch list for a long time, and I can tell you it works. There are a couple things you need to do, however...

    1) Make sure your auctions are posted BEFORE the event starts - I put mine up usually the night before.
    2) Post a handful of them at OUTRAGEOUS prices (Deeprock Salt for 20g, Small Eggs for the same). This is a "gamble" that someone will jump on the AH and attempt to get them immediately, especially if this is the last holiday for them to get the achievement.
    3) Post in small batches - don't blow your wad all in one shot! EXPECT to be undercut. So now you can undercut the undercutters, to a degree.
    4) Avoid Trade, at least in the beginning. After 2-3 days, then I will hit Trade. I avoid Trade initially to keep visibility low on the market. Once people know what you're doing, the prices drop pretty fast.

After a year's worth of snatching, I currently have 900 Deeprock Salts - and I will probably sell 75% or more of them at 4x to 10x my cost.
