Darkmoon Fair 2 - How did it go?

I know a lot of us were making Darkmoon cards and decks and wondered how it went for everyone.

This is my report. I have 12 scribes. I had made a huge amount of gold from the first fair (got me from 129k gold to 1.1 million gold) and knew that it would go down. But my cost to make a trinket is roughly 4500 gold (including the cards that don't go in decks). As this fair started I had 1 tank trinket that I hadn't sold. I had about 20 cards left over from fair 1 plus all the cards made since then as well as making cards every day during the fair.

I ended up making up 42 decks which I converted to trinkets:

    14 caster - I kept 2 for personal use
10 healing - Kept 1 for personal use
    8 Agility
    5 Strength
    5 Tank

During the course of the fair I sold the following:

    1 Agility trinket - 39k
    2 Healing - 30k and 25k
    2 Caster - 25k and 22.5k
    3 tank - 12.5k twice and 11.5k

I also sold 16 cards ranging from 1k to 4.5k

I bought 7 cards on the last day totallying 18k to file out a few decks

The total that I collected from these sales was 196k. I had calculated my costs to make all of the cards through the end of the fair at 187k. So at this point I'm 9k ahead and anything that I sell from now on is profit.

I had left at the end of the fair:

    10 caster
    7 healing
    7 agility
    5 strength
3 tank (yay! RNG was good to me)

20 loose cards. 94% of my cards were used in decks so I had little wastage.

I've sold one trinket since then (healing for 25k).

The tank trinket during the fair sold in the 12k range, the healing and caster trinkets in the mid- to low-20s and the agi/strength were mostly around mid-30s.

I would guess the tank trinket will end up around 10k, caster/healing around 20k/high teens and the agi/strength around 25k. Since my cost per trinket is only about 4500 this still looks to be very profitable although not as much so as after the first fair.

What Kathroman said... This expansion I went in for scribes and alchemists in a big way.

As for my own DMF progress.

With 9 scribes, I managed to make about 18 trinkets the first faire. I didn't bother selling any until after the faire was finished, though, and sold about 12 of them for about 450-500k gross. This faire I'm up to 36 trinkets (kept one AGI for myself, assuming I actually find some time to play down the road), and the strategy is the same - hold my pricing until the 2nd - 3rd weeks between faires when supply has dropped sufficiently. I purchased fewer individual cards this time around, so my overall profit margins should be higher as well.

I managed to pull in about 50k on average with the first faire, and am aiming for 20-25k with this faire. After this, I'm probably done with crafting and will just look to sell off inventory the rest of the way.

Yeah, that's in my mind as well. I'm still making my scrolls but I wonder how long to keep making cards. With 12 scribes it is a large time and financial commitment to get all the herbs, mill it, make cards. I did sell another trinket today...wasn't really expecting to, had it priced above what I thought would sell this week...but it sold. But, I do wonder when to stop making more and when to just keep on going....

I only have 3 scribes, but I have been barking for crad in trade and tipped other scribes 500G/craft (my ink). Herb prices have been perfect. Huge supply and prices around 30-32G/stack, so I have almost no cost on the ink. Since the production price has been very low I tryed to controll the cardmarket by resetting cards and stuff like that in an effort to make it expensive for people to collect decks of the. This has not been very succesful s I underestimated the amount of people making cards a little.

I ended up with 32 trinkets and sold some to cover my investment - some of which where sold to guildmembers at very cheap prices. The competition has really picked up and this weekend melee dps trinkets where as low as 15K. I holding back a bit and trying to get better prices later. So "how did it go?" - I don't know yet as all my profit are in the ones i haven't sold yet

The 2nd DMF was quite generous for me. I only have 3 scribes and I made a deal with a friend: I supply the ink + 100g and he does the cards for me.

Between trading excess cards, buying as little as possible from the AH and what I could make I made a total of 16 trinkets

4 Serpents: Sold 3 between 17k and 24k (kept one for my warlock)
4 Tigers Agi: sold 3 for 29k each, still have one for sale
2 Tiger Stg: Sold both for 31k each
3 Oxen: cheapest went for 9k and a lucky shot for 16k
    3 Cranes: between 14k and 19k

With stacks of herbs ranging from 17, 20g p/stack, I easily covered the cost of the herbs with one or two trinket sale, the rest was pure profit.

    Cheers
Apparently, I'm shady around these parts

I made about 10 trinkets for this faire (4 scribes, plus snatching cheap cards), and had a decent amount of single cards left over. I think so many people went scribe-heavy for MoP launch that the market will be dead by the 3rd faire, so I made the decision to get out of the market with whatever I sell this time.

So I sold my singles Thursday - Saturday and they ALL SOLD. Most were in the 2k-3k range, which is a really nice profit when they only cost 600g to make.

And as an aside, I'm pretty much abandoning glyhps for the time being. JCing is BY FAR the easiest and most profitable profession at the moment.

I ended up with about 10 trinkets as well, mostly serpents, 5 of those. I also have 2 cranes, 1 strength, 1 agility and 1 tanking. I didn't mean to not have more diversity, its just the way things played out. I also had a lot of lose cards and got very lucky with HIGH demand cards, so I sold lose cards the last 3 days of the fair and made quite a bit. I am waiting a while before I start posting, everyone on my server has listed their trinkets it seems and rather than keeping the prices reasonable, they are undercutting to ridiculous levels, I might actually start snatching trinkets soon.
