    Darkmoon Cards in Cata

Looking at the calendar from server up on Dec 7th I'll have five days to max Inscription and pump out a few Darkmoon cards before it goes away for 3 weeks. I'm banking on the demand/prices for these cards will be just silly during the 3 weeks so willing to burn alot of cash to make them. But I'm stuck on the fastest way to get all that done in five days. Any ideas?

I don't think the depth of your market will not be as you expect it to be. In the first week of cataclysm maybe 100 people per server will reach 85. Of those 100 how many are going to be concerned with dark-moon card the first few days of being 85? I just don't see the margin here. You are better off to bide your time and make your sales en masse to the masses.

Being in a top raiding guild i know at least 25 people rushing for server first 85. And that's just in my guild alone.. first week there will be the cream of the crop at 85 but second and third week there will be lots of lvl 85's looking for gear upgrades. And I'm on a high pop server to boot. I'm confident the market will be there. And the chance of being one of the few (if no the only one) with the Cards on AH. I'll get to name my own price. I think it's worth a shot. Besides I have made a ton on Glyphs, and I mean ALOT. I'm done with selling Glyphs to the masses with inscription. The time vs profit is to skewed anymore. It's sinking ship, it will gasp for air for about a month into cata then hit the bottom never to return, gone are the days of 15k a week selling them.. RIP.

I already have a snatch list worked out. I have every profession maxed so getting player made items will not be a factor. I'm just looking for tips on the fastest way to do it in cata within the five days(i was not in beta).
I'm even thinking of farm herbs.. ugg.. /wrist

It's not so much cream of the crop as it is people without jobs or other responsibilities. I know of a dozen top enders going for it from my old guild and I know they will pay a fortune for these while they wait for everyone else. My vacation time wasn't approved for that time so I get to be at the office but I'll hit 85 within the week since there will be a weekend.

Darkmoon Faire is scheduled for the last time in December. Last I checked the DMF isn't due to return in... anyone know? They weren't on the calendar in the future after this next one. Where's the permanent location?

I don't think this is a terrible idea. I have Server First Scribe from Wrath (Cokeroft on Blackrock if don't believe me =D) and I spent about 12k to get that, I turned around sold 4-5 greatness decks for 25-30k total. So the money is there, just have to be fast about it. A tip that I can give you, is CONTACT people about the decks, don't wait for them to come to you. Find the top guild on your server and tell them to let their people know you have decks for sale, because the decks are good.

Here is my earlier post on gathering and crafting sales prediction on a week for week and month for month until Summer 2011. What your hedging against is sell first, but who is there to buy and how much are they willing to pay for? Will you be just selling the caster/melee versions of the DMF decks? If you want realm crafting profession first, be prepared to fork out gold as the demand for raw materials will outstrip supply within the first 48 hours. Potential realm first crafters will pretty much have to buy all they need regardless of the AH prices.

Fortunately, I have an over-abundance of time to farm the materials. So maybe I'll make it. Once I get my first 85 I'll likely spend a good chunk of time farming ore and herbs to level professions, especially if I think it will pay off with some of the first cards on the server. I'm also going for Insane in the Membrane and only have DMF rep left to worry about (thank god), and you should factor in people like me. The deck market will be very competitive by the 3rd DMF after Cataclysm, especially with so may people off work for holidays. Many people aiming for Insane are also the crazies who spend an unhealthy amount of time on the AH, and have realized the amount they can cash-in. However, if you're not going for Insane, you should consider guild mates or people you trust and offer to let them hand in your decks for your for a price.

Either way, I'm certainly not dumping 500k for realm first, I would rather to earn that 500k.

For leveling up, go Aeg has some great advice with Kaliope's blog.

Another profession blog that I recently found is http://www.projectcwal.com/wow/profe...or-450-to-525/
with inscription http://www.projectcwal.com/wow/power...ption-450-525/. It's not as in depth as Kaliope's one, but having different options can be helpful.

Looking into the [spell]86615[/spell] it looks like getting the necessary , will be harder than getting to max Inscription. Since [spell]86615[/spell] creates 32 different cards(8 cards in 4 sets) you will be burning through a lot of , as you'll need 30 a pop.

If they simply aren't available from farmers, you may need to farm herbs yourself. The only mob that seems to drop are wailing weeds in Mount Hyjal. So if you go through that zone, make sure NOT to turn in the quest [quest]Seeds of Their Demise[/quest]. Otherwise those mobs will be phased out.

That will get nerfed about 12 seconds after it gets leaked to the masses.
