Are you doing the cooking dailies?

Many of you already know about the cooking dailies in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. It's a random smattering of quests which require you to wander around the respective cities finding items lying around on the ground. It's a little tedious and and fairly competitive on high population servers but can generally be done in a few minutes. You may already be doing these on your main to get a leg up on the cooking recipes you will need.

My question to all of you is: Why aren't you doing them on EVERY alt? Unlike the Dalaran cooking daily, these only require level 10 and cooking of 1. The reason to do them on every alt? . This box will cost you 2 cooking tokens. The box will contain 2-5 Cataclysm cooking meats (http://www.wowhead.com/item=65513#contains). Those meats are currently selling on my server for 150g each. I would give you TUJ values, but TUJ doesn't have them in the database yet. People appear to be stocking up so they can immediately level to 525 cooking. As a result, if you aren't going to be online cooking at 12:01 on December 7th, you won't be getting a server first. Therefore you might as well sell these now while their value is extremely inflated.

Or you can just collect them so your main can try for server first...

I wasnt doing them since I was at max level on any toon that cared about cooking and I guess I completely forgot about the other reward involved in completing them. Do you get city rep as well for doing these?

Yes, I believe it's 250 SW/Org reputation. It should also be noted that one of the dailies gives 2 awards. For SW it's [quest]Feeling Crabby?[/quest].

I did "Hitting A Walleye" last night while at max cooking and exalted SW rep and got 69 (I think) alliance rep....what is alliance rep? I am human if it matters.

I didnt get any cata meat but I did run into Timmy on the way to fishing zone.

It means you got 69 rep on all the other Alliance factions. There is also a hidden faction which is called "Alliance". You can't see it in game, but it does appear on the Armory and it also counts as a rep toward the Exalted achievement. To get the Cataclysm meat, you have to use 2 cooking awards to buy the crate of meat. The crate contains 2-5 cataclysm meats.

Note that if you are not max level cooking, you also get +1 to your skill, same with fishing

Definatly a great idea to Start doing these dailies now, I have been doing them since the shattering for the cooking awards and the fishing skill points. Hopefully will be able to sell quite a bit of cooking food and with recipes costing cooking awards, Its pretty similar to jewelcrafting in that generally having many of the high level recipes means more ways you can profit.

I did the cooking daily on a level 11 Tauren Paladin and didn't get the crate. Is that a level/skill restricted thing? The Paladin had 350 cooking FWIW.

You purchase the crate from the person next to the daily guy - it cost 2 tokens.
