    Cataclysm Fish in 4.0.3a

There are several ways right now to fish up Cataclysm fish from both Uldum and Mount Hyjal. Thing is, I felt very guilty after the first time I did this, and deleted all the items I farmed. Is it OK for me to farm up these items? To be more specific, I am standing in old world zones and casting into the Cataclysm zones to catch these fish.
I will not be doing this again until I can figure out whether this is OK.

Yes, my account is upgraded to Cataclysm for December 7th, but I don't want to get banned over something like this.

The "hotfix" isn't. There are numerous reports that this still works anywhere except Twilight Highlands. I have no faith in Blizzard's QA regarding professions, so this isn't a surprise. Rather unfortunate that they choose to publicise it before actually fixing it.

The best precedent for this was cloth farming outside Karazhan, just before TBC launched. Lots of people got lots of Outland cloth a few weeks early. But they couldn't do anything with it until TBC launched, and it took just as long to farm. The fuss seems to be caused by the fact this "makes the realm first 525 cooking too easy", but, frankly, people posting that don't realise how easy it is anyway. If that realm first was to be restricted, the cooking daily quests should have been turned off until Cataclysm's launch.

IMHO, cross-boundary fishing is even more difficult to class as "an exploit" because it is a basic game mechanic that fish catch is based on bobber location. The rules of the game, as coded for the last 6+ years, allow this behavior. Unfortunately anyone that remembers wall-walking will understand that logic generally fails to win such arguments.

Overall Blizzard's desire to "fix" this clearly shows that they do not wish it to happen, so any attempt to now "circumvent their fix" is inherently risky.

Thanks for clearing that up Elen. You could probably farm up quite a few stacks and just bank them until Cataclysm or what have you, but there is that innate risk there because I would still be circumventing their preventative measures.

I'm not even going to bother farming fishies, too much to lose and so little to gain. Besides, once I am gold capped it won't be on my conscience that I earned some of that gold through an exploit .
