Post on WarcraftEcon makes Archeology look awesome.

Cataclysm Beta: Epic Quality and Other Useful Items From Archaeology

Most of these items will be BOA so people can use them on alts when their main (or character they obtained them on) gets an upgrade which is awesome in my opinion. There are also mounts and one mount in particular catches my eye

This sounds like it could be similar to the Scarab Lord mount which I always wanted but I didn't play in Vanilla so never even had a chance :/

There will also apparently be BOE items which you could sell for a profit assumably and these items are similar to the new profession craftable epics so expect to sell items similar to these to lazy people.

There are also items that are not gear such as:
Which could be amazing for utility in combination with a Signet from Dalaran, expect to also see vanity/utility items like this which haven't been fully mined yet such as the (as exampled on WarcraftEcon) Yogg Saron Puzzle Box.

I'm still wondering if the items you dig up using Arch skill are BoP or BoE to see whether or not we can sell the fragments to people to complete sets.

I've seen a few posts with some information on this subject, however, I'm not sure they completely answer your question. It doesn't sound like you will be able to sell fragments, but it's tough to tell so far. There are a couple articles with some basic information below. It appears from the screenshots on Kaliope's blog that the fragments may not even be inventory items, but rather are just referenced in your archaeology tab.

You'll notice from the mmo-champion blue quotes, however, that there will be bind on account equipment that you can pass around. The difference is that it doesn't appear it will scale to level like heirloom items.

You are correct Cali, the fragments you loot from dig sites go right into your Archaeology book. I don't think you can buy/sell/trade them as an actual item. The wildcard scrolls ARE an actual looted item which is stored in your bags. Currently they are not soulbound and I actually saw one on the beta AH today. It remains to be seen whether players would actually be willing to pay good money for these, you can only use a limited number per artifact created. That said, the wildcard scrolls hasten the fragment building process so they do have a value. On the other hand you get a decent number of these by visiting dig sites so end and with plenty anyway.

I could argue this either way but my best guess is that the Cata ones (Tolvir and ??) will be the ones in demand.

I'm definitely excited for this new profession, but I doubt that I will be making any money from it.
