I got a quick question in case anyone has done the math on ink conversions.

As I don't pre-make glyphs for Glyphmas 2.0 but (like many here, from the sounds of it) I've been heavily stockpiling blackfallow inks, waiting to convert a huge chunk of them into 'old' inks just before the first big patch hits... how are you folks planning to do that?

In other words if you have X blackfallow ink stockpiled now, what percentage of it will you keep as-is, and which other other inks will you trade it for while you still can, at what percentages?

@arkandel Have a look at this website http://jabberie.hostzi.com/ made by @Ravanys and @Jabberie . The entire post is here as well in case you want to have a look.

Hey guys, I'm jumping into the goldmine that is inscription very recently, I've been putting it off for so long because I never quite understood it and was too wary to try my luck, however I did level a character recently and got him up to 500/525 skill for about 3k gold.

I think I'm clear on the concept of what I should do before and after the patch hits, but my worry is I don't have that many glyphs already learned. I got all the trainer glyphs, did the northrend and minor research for 2 days, which is a pain with the CD. I bought one book of glyph mastery to see how many glyphs it yields, sadly only one. So at the moment I've got around 1000 Blackfallow ink (aiming for 15000), so before I go any further how can I learn more glyphs? I know theres almost 400 of them, will I have enough time to learn enough before patch day and I'm leaning towards sitting on my pile of converted inks till I can learn enough glyphs. Some input would really help.

    Thanks

Unless you're willing to invest big on Books of Glyph Mastery - which will cost a pretty penny for all of them as, yes, they yield one discovery for each - there's no other way to speed the process of learning additional glyph recipes up than using the research CD every 24 hours.

You should still do that every time, as annoying as it is, if for no other reason then to at least increase the chances that when you're using the MoP equivalent CD, you'll learn how to make genuinely new (and thus, potentially more profitable) glyphs rather than an old one your competition already has.

To combat my competition is there anyway to be even more prepared for this new glyph market. Apologies if I seem like I've got no clue what I'm talking about but as i see it, popular glyphs right now might well be unpopular in MoP and therefore drop in price, is there some sort of compiled list of glyphs in demand on beta or some rough template to go by on which cheap glyphs right now will turn into expensive profitable glyphs later?

Sure, and you're on the right forum for that.

For starters you should start preparing for MoP. Not every competitor has the kind of information we circulate in here, and information isn't often correlated to power for no reason. Check out http://stormspire.net/speculation/63...eparation.html if you haven't, for example.

You can also set up your AH alt for what's to come. Glyphs take up a lot of space, and you'll be making a lot of trips from the mailbox to the auctioneers/bank, so the better this process the easier you'll be making it for yourself. Article: Optimizing Glyph Operations on a Single Toon is an excellent reference many of us used to make the operation more efficient.

I hope that helped a little. Feel free to ask questions about specific things.

Does anyone know what inks will be used in the new "Mists" research? I'm trying to plan my Blackfallow Ink conversion. Thanks for any info you can provide.

I recently leveled a scribe to 525 and have discovered all the research glyphs (Northrend and Minor), but I have only learned 4 or 5 [Book of Glyph Mastery] glyphs. I'm trying to get BoGM for cheap on the AH, but no luck. I'm looking to get into the Inscription market for Mists but it has quite a barrier to entry. I have about 80k liquid gold right now. Any advice in particular for me besides the sticky info?

I also just wanted to say this forum is amazing. Such a wealth of information.

3 MoP inks and a vendor parchment.

Has anyone else been considering putting the books on their snatch list. They normally run around 1k on my ah which is steep but given that on my server those glyphs all sell between 300-350g I'm thinking it might be well worth my investment to rob my potential competition of the chance to own them. Thoughts?
