    Inks, Inks, and More Inks

Hello everyone! I would first like to thank all the Bloggers out there and especially the Consortium and JMTC forums. As of Monday morning, 11AM Iraq time, I have made 107k on Inscription alone since the patch!

Special thanks to Zero for his ZeroAuctions addon!

Inks... Herbs... Cataclysm stock depleted... What's a Dwarf to do? Normally Snatch would be my saving grace but I don't trust alpha/beta versions of any addon no matter how good it is. So I had to be resourceful.

100k in a week in one profession means you have to move a lot of stock. For two days I was only making glyphs that were selling for 80g+. The demand on my server has not diminished at all. Herbs, however, have increased steadily. My made-up-math said that I should buy herbs at the same price of the glyphs I am selling (due to the three ink change). I know that is overkill but it guarantees I make a good profit. Herbs are 80g a stack so I sell the glyphs that are going for 80g or better.

I noticed that a major portion of the inks were Midnight, Ethereal and equal amounts of Jadefire, Shimmering, Celestial, and Lion's inks. The herbs that make these inks were considerably cheaper than Icethorn and Adder's Tongue, my staple herbs of choice for milling. I bought all of the herbs I found and milled them. I soon ran out of ink again and decided to just search for the inks themselves; boy was I in for a treat! I found hundreds of bottles of ink all priced below 3-4g each. Bam! I lowered my threshold to 35g and I am selling at an even greater volume.

I found a couple of tricks I never knew about milling, I am sure these have been talked about. When I am doing a mill-grind I equip four 32 slot herb bags. I then macro the /mill command to a key. I take my mouse and hover over the herb stack and I click it. While the casting bar is moving I quickly move to another stack and do the same thing, then a third. By that time the loot box opens. Pausing because you can't mill while looting. Then you mill 1-2 more stacks between loot pauses. You can actually mill faster than using Enchantrix or other milling mods. I also mill as well as make inks while opening my mailbox.

I post my glyphs for 12 hours, 5 at a time. I cancel every 3 hours and repost. I do this while watching Seinfeld (Marathon FTW). It is not as easy as pre-patch QA3 goodness but I have adjusted to the change. I hope this information will be helpful for some of you. I would post it on my blog but I have like five readers and no volume... [o.O]!

    TTYL.

I haven稚 really used my inscription skill for trading since launch of wotlk, but with patch 4 comming i saw a chance to make some money,

I知 writing here, because as I知 having time problems as I expand my Glyph business and have more and mores glyphs up for same.

    My strategy is as follows:

I can make any glyph at a price of 10G each.
I知 willing to sell any glyph for 15G or more.
I知 using a undercutting strategy where I update my auctions very often, and make the money through volume.
If the price on a certain glyph is down to 5-6G and theres like 10-12 of them on AH I buy them all, and repost 2 at 99G.
When reposting glyphs I cancel all glyphs that have been undercut by others and post 2 new at 10s less.

    Here痴 my problem:

I知 using Auctionator to check if my glyphs are the cheapest ones on AH, and if not I use it to cancel the auctions. This includes a lot of clicking as of patch 4, but it痴 ok (I also like the fact that it 電atamines the latest known price (which is nice to have together with average prices from auctioneer).

After grapping the cancelled glyphs in the mailbox I have to repost and this is taking to long. In trading in 120-130 different glyphs, so I have to start with on glyph. drag it to the 都ell window in auctionator se if the cheapest auction isn稚 already mine if not chance the number of auctions to 2 and click post. Next glyph same procedure. Lets say I spend 10 sec. on every glyph it takes me 20 minutes just to post glyphs, which is to long. (when I have to do it 5-6 times a day)

I don稚 know a lot of addons, but I know that patch 4 have chanced a lot of them. I知 interested in something that does the following:

After I have checked all auctions for any undercutting, and gotten the glyhs in the mailbox I wat to post new glyphs:

If the cheapest auction is mine do nothing
If the cheapest auction is <15G do nothing
If the cheapest auction is >15G post 2 and undercut by 10s
If there isn稚 any auction for the glyph post at 2 at 99G

I know I can稚 get it 100% automated and a click to confirm every trade button is fine, but I can稚 find the right addon to do this.

Anyone have a 澱eginners guide to make this work? I have tried looking in to auctioneer but its pretty advanced imo, and 堵lyphpost keepts posting at way to low prices

Having a regular day time job, being on a server with a lot of compassion, and being unable to play the AH this weekend I have still made 25.000G since last week.

    Thanks for posting here!

ZeroAuctions is your answer by far. It will meet all of your needs listed above. It is a rework of QuickAuctions 3 which the original creator has abandoned for other interests.

Login to World of Warcraft and type /za config to load the settings panel.
In the General settings you set a default for all item groups but I instead like to leave these the way they are and only make sure Smart Canceling is checked.

Next click Profiles in the upper left. Here you can add custom profiles that can be used by any character on your account. Call this profile "glyphs" and click Okay or hit 'Enter'.

Lastly click Item Groups. In this panel you should pay close attention so you don't accidently list items for strange amounts. Each of these settings will override the general settings. I prefer to use these instead of the general settings so it pertains more to each specific item group better.

For glyphs, I like to override stack settings to ignore any stack with more than one (I hardly see people sell in stacks though). This will make sure I don't undercut a stack of twenty or five or whatever. I then set the override post time to 12 hours. Next, I'll set my post cap to (2) (per your request). If you have to undercut the competition a lot you'll want a lower post cap like five to ten. Set the per auction to (1) so it lists in stacks of one and move down to price and set your undercut by one silver (I suggest 1s or even 50c rather than 10s, IMO). Next, put your bid percent at 100% and set the threshold to 15g. Add in a fallback price. This is the price your item will list at if there are none up (99g99s99c).

After that you'll need to add items. You can add items three ways: by simply clicking on it, typing a portion of or the whole name, or by clicking in the box and shift plus left clicking an item.

Once done open the AH, click the Auctions Tab, and the click the post button and be ready to accept each auction with a click. Hope this helps.

Try this YouTube video also. [wink] ~ Crusard
