How good are you at discovering the JC daily?

Ever since Blizzard decided to ignore DST on US servers, I've been unable to find out what the JC daily was before heading to work in the morning (I'm EST and play on a PST server so the daily pops right around when I'm taking the dog out before I leave for work). This meant I could keep a constant presence via RAH throughout the day on gem days.

With DST, I'm out the door before the JC daily pops at (now) 4am ST. I've had to try to watch gem pricing trends via TUJ and RAH checks, but it means I have missed 1-2 gem dailies and therefore lost out on a good 1000g each of those days.

So my question is, how good are you at picking the daily based on gem prices? Do you have a system in place to make it less of a guessing game? Any suggestions?

If you have a JC friend or guildie who could contact you at work (forums, e-mail, text message, etc.) and tell you what it is would be the simplest way.

With how cheap ore is nowadays, I've found the only time when prices rise significantly for the JC daily gem is when it's been the same JC daily for a few days or it's been the same one several times a week. You might want to check sales volume and amount posted on TUJ to give you an idea. For example, the JC daily gem on my server today has a lot of sales in stacks of 3, which is not the case for the other two daily gems, and the sale log only goes back 7 hours, while the others still show purchases that were much further back.

I'm on EU server, so there is no way to anticipate the JC daily

I find I can tell which gem is the JC daily because that's the one that isn't selling and has the price dropping minute by minute as idiots pile in. Seriously I sell more gems, at a higher price, following the day it was the daily than any other time but perhaps my server is unusually stupid?

    A) Ill check for you and send you a text for 50g per day.
    B) Theundermine journal sale tracker - keep a close eye and see if some spike (but this means lost sales)
    c) Find someone who is online on your server at that time that you are comfortable giving your number to and have them text you

    Do you use mobile banking?

Do other JC's generally buyout all cheap gems in order to resell on the day of the JC daily? (They do on my server, and fairly quickly after the daily turnover. This needs to be the case in order for this strategy to work.)

Post a single jasper, zephyrite, and nightstone fairly cheap, but not so cheap that it might sell on accident. Say, 15g. After the daily turnover time, see which one sold. Presto.

Edit: After thinking about this a bit more, this could actually be a way to make some extra money off of the flippers as well. As I mentioned, on my server there are some AH flippers that buy out gems (up to a certain point) in order to flip them for profits on the day of the daily. If you were to list, say 2-3 stacks of each gem at around 15-20g each (but not too many, as you don't want to create a wall that they'll hesitate to break) you could make some money off of them. Then additionally, after they start listing, undercut at whatever their prices are for even more profit. They do the work of buying out - you benefit from it. If you can manage to list those stacks before they buyout, you don't even need to list all three colors, just the one of the daily.

    I use the RAH, yes.

I'm going to be talking to a gulidie but I don't know how early he gets up in the morning.

I've been halfway decent at it just by looking for an influx of 3-stacks and value skyrocketing. Good call on TUJ monitoring (yep, it means lost sales, but some sales are better than no sales)

@Spoobob: I post 6 singles the day after a gem daily. They are generally sold quickly to the people who forgot to do their daily the night before. This is a new tactic I've been using to great effect, as I'm making some residual money off the lazy crowd.

I know this is an old thread, but this looks like an interesting update coming out to communicate with your guild...

    http://www.wowhead.com/bluetracker?topic=2653949

A new feature has just been added to the World of Warcraft Mobile Armory app: remote Guild Chat! As part of the latest update for the free Mobile Armory app for the iPhone and iPod touch, the new Guild Chat feature lets you stay in touch with your guildmates wherever you go:

    - Read and contribute to your guild’s in-game chat channel in real time

    - Participate in one-on-one conversations with members of your guild

    - View the members of your guild who are currently online

For a limited time, players can use the Guild Chat feature without a subscription to World of Warcraft Remote. During this time, we'll be rolling out the Guild Chat feature to select realms, with more realms added soon -- check out the list below to see if the feature is currently available on your realm. We also plan to make the feature available on Android devices shortly, so look for an update in the days ahead.

After the free preview period ends, players will need to have a subscription to World of Warcraft Remote in order to continue using the feature. We'll announce the end of the free preview period in the near future -- keep an eye on the official World of Warcraft website for further details.

To learn more about World of Warcraft Remote, which also grants you full access to the Remote Auction House, visit the World of Warcraft Remote page, or go here to subscribe.

The World of Warcraft Mobile Armory app is available as a free download from the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch.

The list of realms currently able to use Remote Guild Chat isdisplayed below. If your realm is not on this list, please check again soon. I've been keeping an eye on this ever since they announced it. The part that worries me is the "free beta" part. I'm not sure I want to pay a premium on top of RAH just to know what the JC daily is.

I thought I saw somewhere that it would be included in the RAH price.
