    Relics and Offhands

I was wondering what peoples experience with the Inscription Relics and offhands has been. When I first looked at these the large cost associated with all the inferno inks turned me off. Now I am sitting on inferno ink and I have a choice to continue down the Darkmoon Trinket path or try and make some money off of relics/trinkets.

    offhands

    relics

My main is a mage and I was rocking for some time. The thing that has me worried about these relics is they compete with the justice point vendors ( and ).

I guess I am looking for general tips/tricks to maxamize my profit on these things. Which relics are the most attractive to the masses?

I haven't really bothered to try selling any off-hands or relics because they are items people use for leveling. Last I checked, they were going for about 50% mat price.

I'll usually just sell my infernos raw.

I've paid 250g for an and 1.5k for an for my DK (alt), but that's all the experience I have.

    (that's a joke, eh)

I've been keeping a watch on these and what their selling prices are vs. the cost of mats. The relics & offhands are still selling at below mats cost at this point, so I haven't even bothered trying to make some and sell for profit. The Inferno Ink prices are still fairly high and until they drop any, it won't be worth making this relics & offhands on my server.

The reason I am looking into this is beacuse I don't think I can move all the Inferno inks raw. I can see myself selling some inferno inks but trying to offload hundreds this way doesn't seem viable.

As far as the price vs the mats price I think this is highly dependant on how much your inferno inks cost. The crazy way I do math they should turn a profit even if they are in the 1k range.

I guess this is a good point. If you are going to try and do this make the relics/offhands that require level 85. I think we can agree that most levelers would rather track down a quest for a relic/offhand than buy one from the AH.

A week ago I finally gave into TSM's insistence that I make most of these items since they were > 50g profit. I had the ink that was just sitting around, and even some frozen orbs for the older ones. So far, I've sold a grand total of 2 of them. 1 tattooed eyeball for 1790 and one book of clever tricks for 95. Not exactly a market that is going to make me a ton of money, but at least I don't have to keep unclicking them when I hit restock queue for making my glyphs. I'm probably doing something wrong there, but meh, it's easy now, and there's some minor potential profit there.

Costs me 2k to make the relics and I sell them for 3k each - Occasionally the leveling competition comes in and then I hold on till those sell out, but after that I go right back to keeping mine up for 3k. I sell 1 every 2 weeks so it is not a fast moving market and it will depend on other people leveling, but I find it a nice way to diversify my infernos.

I abandoned the market and passed out my stock to my alts. Almost everything sells for below cost of mats. My last was up for a month before pulling it down. I see plenty of players running around with junk in these slots, but no one wants to invest any gold into upgrading them.

Honestly, its more profit in the raw materials for those things atm, than for crafting them, atleast on my server. (buy mats from TH locked vendors) People use them to level professions, so..the only way I've found to make gold of those items is by buying the vendor items required to level inscription, and selling them for 100-200g each.

I just unloaded 200x or more inferno inks 2 weeks ago for 60-70g per, and I am happy with that, even if the price range from 60-100g. Trinket prices are dropping fast on my realm and the relics/offhands have never been anything else than prof. leveling items(again, on my realm )

    Ex.
I've sold Bleached Jawbone 8 times the last week, for an average of 140g each.
Scavenged Dragon Horn 7 times for 60g each.
Preserved Ogre Eye 5 times for 135g each.

Yes, people are lazy, take advantage

I may have sold those items for around 1k each when the xpac had just hit... but yes, good point on them selling over the vendor price. It is usually easy gold.
