    DE Spreadsheet

    Hey guys.

I have been working on a side-project and compiled this DE spreadsheet. I figured it would probably be of some use to someone else out there, so I'm sharing it.

What I did was extract the DE tables from Enchantrix (Background: Auctioneer irks me lately, so I uninstalled it, but then needed a reliable method for DE crafts / purchases, and TSM's isn't ready yet, so I made my own, Goblin-style .)

I estimated the mat values from TUJ's scatter plots, but I would definitely encourage you to plug in your own data.

Basically, the tables are sorted by item level, and the average profit is calculated based on the DE ratios, so all you need to do is purchase anything that is below that number, or craft anything for less than that number, DE, and profit!

I am also working on compiling a list of the cheapest items from each profession for each iLvl bracket which would work hand in hand with this one. I have a couple profs down and several more to go...

Feedback is more than welcome. Hope someone else finds this useful.

Wow really good spreadsheet +rep for putting this together.

    Couple questions for you.

    1. How confident are you on the accuracy of the Disenchant results that you are showing.
    2. Any plans to add Heavenly Shards to the list as well?
    3. [spell]83966[/item] would love to see this updated for when there is reliable data on the proc of this guild perk.

I took the data straight outta the preview version of Enchantrix. I've been through the forums for the auctioneer project in the past, and those guys are pretty thorough.

I don't have on this list because Blizzard apparently changed the DE table for cata, and they aren't looting at all from anything except Rare items. I mentioned within the spreadsheet that it isn't usually viable to buy or craft rares simply for DE value, so I thought it would be wasted information. I intend to add the Rare and Epic tables for my other project, so I will likely update it when that is done, but for now, I just needed to start DE'ing some profit again!!!

In regards to the guild perk, I'm not sure, since not everyone will have it. Maybe some sort of toggleable (is that a word?) switch? We will need to wait a bit longer to get some good data on it, but it's worth keeping in mind.

It may be tough to get accurate numbers if your guild is level 23 and has Bountiful Bags, since many people won't have that capability yet. DE percentages will be skewed due to that and possibly not reliable. It would literally have to be tracked completely separate from each other... one tracking with no Bountiful Bags and one tracking with Bountiful Bags. If they try lumping it together, yea, good luck on getting truly reliable data.

Good point Drrwho, that data would be very hard to get reliably.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I was inputting values into my enchanting spreadsheet and realized that I'm still not taking into account Bountiful Bags. I performed my own test before and after my guild earned this perk, but my outcome was inconclusive.

I disenchanted 100 Netherweave Bracers before/after the perk.

    Expected Outcome:
    75.0% Arcane Dust @ 2.5 per (2 or 3)
    22.0% Planar Essence @ 2.5 per (2 or 3)
    3.0% Small Prismatic @ 1.0 per

    Before BB:
    76.0% Arcane Dust @ 2.605 per
    22.0% Planar Essence @ 2.455 per
    2.0% Small Prismatic @ 1.0 per

    After BB:
    70.0% Arcane Dust @ 2.457 per (2 or 3)
    29.0% Planar Essence @ 2.414 per (2 or 3)
    1.0% Small Prismatic @ 1.0 per
    16.0% Bountiful Bag Proc @ 1.250 per (1, 2 or 3)

I've disenchanted many items since then and have noticed I have received anywhere from 1-5 dusts or essences when BB procs. I normally receive 1 extra shard or crystal when BB procs, though I once received 2.

All this math in mind, I wonder if a calculation can yet be determined to include Bountiful Bags.

Well, it would be easy enough to add a +15% BB factor. Thoughts?

Has the bug with bountiful bags (regarding greater celestial essence not benefitting) been fixed in 4.1 or later?

Perhaps, but 15% of what value? If an item typically DE's into 2-3 dust, there's a chance BB will only yield as low as 1 or as high as 5 in rarer circumstances. The "easiest" method to calculate this may be to ignore the max/min and simply treat it as another roll.

    i.e.
= (Amount to DE * Average Return) * Percentage Average + 0.15 * (Amount to DE * Average Return) * Percentage Average
    = (100 * 2.5) * 0.75 + 0.15 * (100 * 2.5) * 0.75
    = 187.5 + 28.125
    = 215.625

Has the bug with bountiful bags (regarding greater celestial essence not benefitting) been fixed in 4.1 or later?
I was unfamiliar with this bug...

In that equation you can factor out Amount to DE*AverageReturn*Percentage Average so that the equation is just 1.15*Amount to DE*Average Return*Percentage Average, assuming that GCEs receive the bonus appropriately now. If that is not the case it will be necessary to not include the 15% bonus for GCE disenchant tables.
